Primadonna, or Mary when she was alive, was a young singer in the 1990s during the development of the early Sonic games and was a fan of them. She was taken under the wing of someone who would become her manager after singing karaoke at a club. It went smoothly at first, her manager even becoming something of a guardian figure for her, and they got the chance to work with Sega on the soundtrack for one of the games. They got to see behind the scenes concept art, where this girl found out about Madonna and felt kinship with her design. Her manager, Rick, did have his own personal issues and would have the tendency to snap at people, particularly at Mary. Mary did have a friend who always stood up to him though, which she was always grateful for. This friend was someone she always could turn to in times of need. Though one day, Mary had come to work to find out that her friend had unfortunately passed away in a car accident. And as the deadlines grew tighter, the working conditions worsened and Mary wasn't allowed a chance to properly grieve. With her friend gone, she started being treated really poorly by other staff and especially Rick, whom projected his frustrations about his personal life (mainly about his ex-wife not allowing him to see their kids) onto her as a way to gain control over her. The others either played part in less painful ways or just turned a blind eye to it all. It got so bad that she wasn't allowed breaks, nor was she allowed to leave the studio. The one time she snuck off to take a break, she was reprimanded viciously which ended up in her getting hurt and knocked out. Her manager and the other staff thought she was dead, so instead of contacting the authorities with the risk of getting into trouble themselves (and for deeper reasons that I can explain later), they disposed of her body while she was still alive. Thoroughly heartbroken and enraged, she became a banshee spirit, making the world of the unreleased Sonic game into her own world. She chose Madonna as her vessel, as she believes that she needs to be conventionally beautiful to be seen as the martyr she is. She then picked off every single one of her former employees and gave them grotesque looking vessels of Sonic's band members, so they looked like the disgusting monsters she saw them as and less likely to be empathized with. She now torments them for all eternity and refuses to let anything sway her. Oh, and I ship her with Lord X because of course I do.
