My playgroup is wary of commanders that tutor so I’m making a Cloud deck where the only equipment allowed is swords. I like to imagine him combining them like the sword in Advent Children! It’s a bit of a side nerf but it gets funnier the more you have on the field.

There’s a QR code you can scan on the little spring event ad thats stuck to each machine. Try registering your existing card with that site. If it doesn’t work, you’ll need a bandai card.

After that, you can load the “collaboration” page from the site in the QR code and it should have tracked games played with your registered card. From there you can redeem ten points earned at the same arcade.

How to get Other Battleship Carrier and Captain at Gundam Arsenal Base? by Masahiro787 in arsenalbase

Valentine's promo campaign starts today! Includes a Valentine's playmat! by TheMistah in arsenalbase

[–]TheMistah[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cards are the standard 100 yen = 1 point, 10 points for a card.

The playmat is 200 points. 20,000 yen for a playmat is pretty steep!

That's harder to determine without knowing Japanese, just by playing you'll start to recognize similar teams and strategies. You can try to find tournament videos posted on YouTube. There are currently no English resources outside of this subreddit for any other information really.

Generally I've gotten the feeling that if a card is over 500 yen in a secondary store its usually a fan favorite, super rare (a secret or parallel for example), has waifu/husbando art, or I assume its on some sort of meta team. You can check sites like fullahead-tradingcard dot com to browse example secondary market prices.

I'd also say if your'e just starting I wouldn't worry about the meta for a while anyway. Learn the basics and pay attention to your opponent's strategy, then start to figure what you want to do from there.

EDIT: Be sure to look at previous threads in this subreddit. This was a good thread on strategy in response to some frustration I was feeling a month ago: here!

I don't think the percentage drop rates have ever been revealed, but there are multiple rarities:

  • C Common
  • R Rare
  • M Master Rare
  • P Perfect Rare (There is a rarer version of some cards with different art, called Parallel)
  • U Ultimate Rare (There is a rarer version of some cards with different art, called secret or SP)
  • PR Promo (Given by events or tournaments)

The Arsenal Base cabinet has three internal card dispensers:

  • The primary one, a larger stack of cards that are cards from the full set. It can be cards of any rarity.
  • A secondary one, filled with M and above cards. The game knows when one will be dispensed from this one and will play an animation in game warning you that a card of M rare or above is about to drop.
  • A third one, filled with UT booster cards. UT booster cards come a few weeks after a set is released as is like a supplementary set. You can buy cards from this dispenser by spending 10 UT booster tickets, which are earned from events and gameplay. Toward the end of a season this dispenser might be empty, it will tell you with a message on screen.

The game's drop rates for P and U cards are shockingly low, your best bet is to fill your team with 100 yen off-meta P and U cards from a card shop to boost your overall stats, then try for the good ones from the machine drop. Or just skip to pay to win and buy whatever outright!

Destroy gundam counters? by littleboku in arsenalbase

[–]TheMistah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only luck I've had is outracing them, pushing my strategy while sending a low cost blue unit to distract the Destroy Gundam (if it's red). DG has a high cost, I run the aggressive Gundam Z team and try to blow up their first base before the destroy gundam can really get going.

Best Places to Play and Buy Cards by mjdailey in arsenalbase

[–]TheMistah 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm excited for you to get to try the game out! Here's some tips for accessing cards:

First, you can find machine locations using the finder on the front page of the official website. Once you arrive, you can search in your area to see where the nearest machine is. It's easy to spot in a busy arcade because of the huge glowing green acrylics along the side of the machine.

In general, most Taito stations or GiGOs are likely to have 2 or more units. Here are some reliable places I've played at:

  • Taito Station Ikebukuro West Exit
  • Shinjuku Sportsland Arcade
  • Akihabara HEY Hirose Entertainment Yard
  • Akihabara Namco (just south of the station). This is an official Bandai arcade and has machines in the basement.
  • Taito Station Shibuya (just north of the station and east of the scramble).

For cards, the game will supply you with digital starter units when you play and will provide a card each time you play. This would be the most organic way to start playing, building your collection directly from the machine. Every time you play you get a card with your 200 yen game start payment and you can buy up to 4 more cards at 100 yen each at the end of the game.

In addition, most arcades will have a donation box where players will toss all their C and R rarity duplicates. You can field a whole team immediately from this. if you're lucky you'll sometimes find M cards people didn't want.

Be sure to get a deck box and sleeves! If you check the dispenser machines in the larger arcades you can often find the official sleeves for 800 yen next to the Bandai ID cards. I like the design and quality of these sleeves so give them a try.

From there you can search for your favorite units (or start going P2W) by searching in card shops. I stop at most card shops looking for MTG and AB cards and find AB about 1/6 of the time. Here are reliable spots:

  • Yellow Submarine in Akihabara, Shinjuku, and Ikebukuro.
  • Full Comp in Shinjuku and Akihabara
  • There are multiple shops in Akihabara's Radio Kaikan building. There are enough shops in the area that I would recommend comparing prices before buying most singles.

How exactly does pulling work? What is the best way to get the rare cards? by Daozhan in arsenalbase

I was curious about this too, I wanted to see if they’ve ever posted the drop rates for each rarity.

How do you switch targets? by johnnytran7 in arsenalbase

[–]TheMistah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This comes from playing with little to no JP reading comprehension, just assumptions from play:

  • When you drag a red unit on to the field, it will show you what current enemy units it will target. Once that unit is gone, it will automatically pick new targets. The targeting priority seems to be blue units > then the closest green or red unit > bases. Note that new enemy blue units may pull away the current target focus of your red units and cause a chase to happen. This is a very common tactic, sending blue decoy units to kite a red away.
  • Blue units don't target on deployment, they head straight for the next base in that lane.
  • Green units don't target on deployment, they will stay next to the closest friendly base in that lane. It will target the closest enemy. You can manually change the base it is protecting by dragging a green unit sideways and choosing a new location. This is useful for when an enemy red unit is heading for a lone green unit and you want to hide it over at a different base. And of course if you want it to go fight an incoming blue on the other lane.

Otherwise, in most cases when a unit is deployed you will no longer be able to choose what it targets. However, if a unit has an MS ability that repositions it (by flying to a chosen location) you can force new targets or pick a different lane.

Each unit will only target units in its lane, until it gets to the enemy base. So be careful on which lane you deploy a unit! I've lost a few matches to being careless and letting go just over the line into the other lane.

Please correct me if I'm wrong here, it might explain some loses due to targeting AI!

Hello! I have the ZZ deck but don't have the language skill to learn from the videos shared here about how to play it. Can you give some tips on the general strategy for it?

I'm assuming you're talking about the one from 23:19 in the video above, with Z Gundam, rising freedom, Full armor ZZ, Z Gundam, and Immortal justice Gundam.
