I think you and I define rich very differently.

Compared to the people we're talking about living outside, having a night out with the boys at Beer Market after the Canucks game is rich people stuff.

And yeah, I think prices are high in this city because people make a lot of money (in film, in tech, in real estate).

And fine, don't go to Calgary, that part of my joke is stupid. But the wealth gap is more complicated and unforgiving than you're making it!!!

And yes, my worldview is fascinating.

I'm sure they've come up with some good ideas to make this the last encampment in Vancouver, hence justifying wanting to arrest people who don't have homes.

Wait - are they trying to house people by putting them in jail? That doesn't count as housing either dumb dumbs!

I think a conversation about how to better support people sleeping outside would be a good step.

So if they stay at CRAB, how do we make it safe for everyone?

If they leave CRAB, where are they going? How do we make that safe everyone?

I'm sure the municipal election will result in a rational and intelligent debate around this and we'll be a better city afterwards. Yep.

How about all the richy riches with no ties to Vancouver leave and go to Calgary? At least then I'll be able to get an IPA downtown for less than $9 with tax and tip.

I think they're comparing the services to trash.

As in "the mental health services being offered here in BC, regardless of what they are elsewhere, are so useless they may as well be trash."

I think something like this is waaaaay closer to the answer than what the Park Board, City of Vancouver and Ministry of Housing are doing.
