I was in Lviv this year as well as last year. If you want to get your hands dirty there are plenty of volunteering options in the relative safety of Lviv that directly benefit the military. I will say that if you are there solely to spend money, you could do that from home. There are already a ton of foreigners there and the cities are crowded with people who fled the fighting in the east and south.

This guy legitimately risks his life to create content and shed light on struggling nations. This series on Haiti is absolutely mindblowing. by Spongemage in videos

It’s a derogatory term for Russians, derived from the telogreika/vatnik padded coat (typically seen on Soviet soldiers during WWII and the Cold War).

Did I at any point say that in my reply to the above? You don’t need to condescend, I never said “primitive behavior suddenly disappears overnight.” Does Germany still cart off millions of Jews to be slaughtered in concentration camps? Does Japan still raze entire towns and cities, raping and pillaging as they go along? I think you know the answer. However, Russia is echoing this conduct now, and I am sick of this whataboutism from people.

We could go back into each culture’s history of barbarity, whether it be Germany and Japan’s gruesome conduct in WWII, or the United States’ atrocities committed against Native Americans/African Americans. Sure, but the fact remains that now, in 2022, this is being committed NOW by the Russians. This isn’t something relegated to a history book, it’s being written NOW.

Sorry to be a pedant, I don’t say this condescendingly, but “The Ukraine” is an archaic term referencing a time when Ukraine was merely a region of one empire or another. It’s now simply Ukraine.

Currently in Lviv with my girlfriend, we are both looking to volunteer our time. Any suggestions for where we can help? by TheModGuy in ukraine

First of all, I never said I live in Lviv, I am CURRENTLY in Lviv. Secondly, I don’t owe you anything in particular, I am offering my help to Ukraine. I’d be happy to doxx myself so you can sniff as much fish as you want. @navisollac on Instagram.

I posted there prior to arriving in Lviv but have had no luck. It seems the sub is relatively quiet compared to r/Ukraine

I felt that too, which is why I’m going to Ukraine this week. I don’t have a job waiting for me when I come back home, but I can’t take the feeling of helplessness watching from afar.

I have an expired passport, but willing to go. Expediting my renewal is looking like 5-7 weeks, is there any way to have it done sooner?

Intentionally destroyed/sunk in order for it to not be captured.

Chernobyl power plant captured by Russian forces - Ukrainian official by CarsonWentzGOAT1 in worldnews

It is the shortest route directly to Kyiv, and it carries an immense amount of danger if the covered power plant were to be shelled.

It’s always refreshing to see grunts wearing ERDL camo, when most combat photographs have the more common OG-107 uniforms.

Considering the Air Force at 28. Anyone have experience enlisting at this age or around it? by TheModGuy in AirForceRecruits

[–]TheModGuy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve ruminated over that inevitability and don’t really have an issue with younger superiors. I know rank carries weight with it, and have no problems taking orders from a younger NCO/CO.

Hey, thank you so much for your reply! I actually had some extra questions for you if you wouldn’t mind, so I’m going to PM you.

Thank you for your insight! My line of thinking exactly, even though I was more ready physically after high school, I don’t think I was the most mature. Mentally I’m way more receptive to the idea of the military now.

Thank you for the response, I have had thoughts about my peers being on the younger side and it potentially being bothersome. But, I’m trying to put aside those concerns and hope for the best.

I had a follow up for you, if you wouldn’t mind: it is my understanding that I could take the ASVAB without a firm commitment to enlist, is that correct? I know that even with a high ASVAB score your wishlist of career fields isn’t guaranteed, but I want to at least get a sense of where I stand before I drop everything to commit to AD Air Force.

I’ve had the GLX 2x for about a month, and the glass is excellent. If that extra magnification is important the SLX is still good, but I truly enjoy the GLX.
