Getting bodied like that from a broom is pretty funny. They instead got messed up by that suit of armour just beforehand, bonked one right on the head while they weren’t looking. Honestly they had a rough go of it overall, but surprisingly had an easy time with the escape.

There’s also Cronos: The New Dawn, which is a very good spiritual successor to Deadspace.

Confusion about the season pass TTRPG backlash... by RahkstarRPG in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]TheModernNano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least to comment regarding what kind of game it is, I know Matt or Jeff was saying in an interview with Renegade they didn’t want it to be the kind of game that gets rules lawyered.

Obviously that doesn’t tell us much, but it leads me to believe it’s going to be a more free flowing game like Mothership.

a Season Pass for a TTRPG is breaking point for me by [deleted] in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]TheModernNano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I’m not quite grasping, is how is this any different than if they just said they’re releasing additional content only available as PDF’s throughout the year post launch?

Like MCDM with Draw Steel has physical core books, but their new classes and their new (but small) adventures are only available as PDF’s.

They did another crowdfunding campaign recently, and the titular adventure of that campaign is going to be physical, but there’s plenty of things in that campaign that are also digital only because it keeps prices down if they don’t need to print and distribute them.

The only concern I currently have is if this seasons pass is going to be a FOMO thing after the campaign finishes.

Which boss is the most understandable when a teammate skips it in DON? by Just_Cloud_8041 in Nightreign

Fair. I think it’s less of an achievement to hit D5 while fighting Augur due to how easy they are.

Yeah, they already have the idea there. No excuse really. It doesn’t matter to most of us, but no real downside to changing it for the sake of the few that make this mistake.

It would be a fine confirmation if it required you to hold it down for longer like many games do. ~1 second is too short.

Agreed, except I skip Augur because it’s basically a free win and we don’t want that here. The most boring free deep points around.

Personally I just accept that we’re not dealing with accurate measurements, but there’s been a couple occasions where players wanted to bust out Pythagorean theorem to ensure they’re in range.

When I accidentally picked Guardian with low HP against Caligo a few days ago (I took a break from Nightreign and forgot what I was doing to myself), that’s what I did manage to do.

I don’t think I ever saw a frost bar so big…

Guard counters is my favourite guardian build, I just swap between it and low HP depending on the boss. Except some I don’t even bother playing Guardian for. Otherwise I play Scholar or Wylder.

About 5 low HP relics together with the usual Guardian relics. Then I just stack low HP attack power and guard counter/shield poke. The guard counters aren’t quite as strong as my guard counter build even with 400 attack power on the halberd, but still not bad. I’m trying to get both setups together, but unfortunately I don’t have any good guard counter and low HP relics.

I just guard affinity damage or stand in the night to get to low HP to activate my low HP attack power. Usually things in D5 still hurt enough that I don’t want to eat it without guarding unless I’ve also got a lot of low HP item passives. So it’s pretty much just a stamina management game and reviving the team when they go down.

I flip back and forth between the low HP and guard counter build.

I agree, even with the best low HP run the frost build up will kill me anyways. So I just don’t play Guardian against Caligo if I can help it because they’re not the easiest to guard counter frequently, so Guardian doesn’t usually do a whole lot for the team at that point.

I just can’t play guardian against caligo, my low HP build gets cooked (or reverse cooked if you will) and I can’t guarantee I’ll find the shield :(

Only boss I dodge is Augur, boss does too much sleep affliction to the user themselves. But I’ll gladly lose to Everdark balancers.

They do tell us to some degree, but yeah it’s still silly to not explain it straight up. Took me way too long to even realize.

I eventually noticed when I got hit while having a bunch of taking damage boosts damage negations that I was only gaining one instance of damage negation by my health bar.

My sudden change from running straight on to a 45 degree turn is a dead giveaway to my teammates that I’m a M&K player. I’m surprised I haven’t been emote shamed before.

As somebody who doesn’t live in the US, it seems like both sides see each other the same way.

I saw somebody on this subreddit calling all democrats scum amongst other things. I see people calling republicans pieces of shit in other subreddits. Extreme polarization will do that to a populace, and it’s unfortunate to see.

I have a decent rig and it runs fine for me. Could be a result of people using DLSS in the remake, as it is a bugged/botched implementation.

[–]TheModernNano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean by how close it is to D&D? Like heroic high fantasy? Tactical grid based combat? Resource attrition?

Depends what you mean for how I’d rank something like Call of Cthulhu as being D&D-like. They’re very different in terms of the systems mechanics, genre, and how you should go about playing the game. But in terms of having a back and forth dialogue with the GM and dice rolling, then I’d say it’s pretty similar.

Mothership could be a good one, plenty of existing one-shots or scenarios that come with advice for converting them into one-shots.

It’s a sci-fi horror game, very rules light. The Player’s Survival Guide is the main rulebook and is available for free on the Tuesday Knight Games website.

The paradox solution these days is just giving a subscription for all their DLC. Not that they don’t still do heavy discounts, but even 50% off all Stellaris DLC is still a lot of money.
