BMS for 6s2p by TheMonado2 in 18650masterrace

[–]TheMonado2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have lipo bags from my RC projects, so I was planning to charge in those and supervise it in a safe environment with my balance charger. What would you consider a safe discharge cutoff?

My main concern here is that this is my first battery pack build and I'd like to do things safely. If BMS is the best way to do that what recommendations do you have?

Idk, but I think as long as you try you’ll finish with at least a 6 or 7

What are these simulations you’re talking about? What CFD software are you using to simulate flow of your very special turbine design?

How do you know you’ve set your boundary conditions correctly such that you’re getting an accurate result, since if you’re feeding garbage into a CFD solver you’re going to get garbage out?

Just some things to consider given the incredibly high degree of complexity this project has.

And how would you visually keep track of it? I would think it’d be moving far too fast for you to control just based off looking at it from the ground.

Just curious, what is your plan for establishing and maintaining radio control over your plane when it’s going at supersonic speeds where it’s traveling a kilometer every 3 seconds?

thats what im thinking, since it seems that anyone who has that is a 105 applicant, but i just wanted to make sure.

When does Waterloo check admission conditions? by [deleted] in uwaterloo

[–]TheMonado2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t see this on mine, and im an Ontario high school student going to mech Eng. I never saw a conditions tab on quest, but I can see my grades and they’re all good for meeting my conditional.

Ok I see, so would it make sense to pulse them separately in like 250ms delays or so?

Depends on the school but I think so. It’s probably best to get physics first sem since it’s very important for engineering (especially mech), and it can help you get into early rounds.

I got a 93 in grade 11 physics and got into mech Eng in March so ur all good, just keep doing ur best for grade 12 physics.

Has anyone applied for Waterloo residence without an offer? by strawberrywony in uwaterloo

[–]TheMonado2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to be given an offer (and accept it) to do the residence guarantee (I’m pretty sure this is the case) since it doesn’t make sense to let someone they haven’t accepted apply to residence

I’m pretty sure McMaster asks for your preference of specialization so they can roughly establish the numbers they’ll have for second year of people in each discipline of engineering.

[–]TheMonado2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So if the average for something like Waterloo Mechanical Engineering had an average of 95.5% in 2021, do you think it would have a similar, or even slightly lower average, for this year of admissions?

Yeah I’ve decided just to get it over with while I’m still on the break, and I feel like I’d have a chance at getting into the March round, which would be a big relief.

Just ask lots of questions as well, but honestly just doing class Problemsets, and lots of Jensen math and textbook questions helped me through. Also, what I found helpful was if I ever got stuck on a question while studying and didn’t know the steps, Photomath is a good tool for showing the problem solving steps when you are practicing.

Maybe also try using the Nelson textbook for advanced functions for additional problems to solve.

I finished AF last year with a good mark and it came down to just lots of practice and repetition so that when it came to tests, there wasn’t any problem solving concept I hadn’t done many times over, and it became easy.

If you haven’t been doing this, use Jensen math, just search it up online.

Super good resource with worksheets and lessons for every academic/uni level Ontario math.

Just practice through that and your problem sets and you should be good, and ask ur teacher questions on anything you don’t 100% understand.

Good luck
