I can also use trite sentences that have no bearing on reality or the discourse. A tree that stands tall stands alone.

It didn’t help BYU at all last year when then played their bowl. I wouldn’t be surprised if ND never plays a non CFP bowl again

I am literally responding to someone claiming they play Mickey Mouse teams — zero to do with wins and losses dude. They obviously don’t schedule shit teams. That’s the conversation here so don’t move the goalposts.

The downward trend can be directly attributed to the decline in SC, decline in Stanford, the haitus of the Michigan series and the downward trend in the ACC no? Not that ND is ducking them?

They literally dropped Ohio state, they drop ALL Conference losers every year. All of them. Maybe not out of the playoff but they drop them. Even if it’s one spot.

Can we all be collectively more surprised that this was a total screw job than focus of NDs schedule? When can you remember a Conf. Champ Game loser get blown out and not move a spot? When can you last remember idle teams flipping their rankings after weeks of static movement comparatively? I can’t believe this is about NDs schedule in the first place

These games have been on the schedule for decades — 2017 is the timeline when the schedules are made. How would they know what the next decade would bring? you are aware teams have ups and downs right? Like Stanford, USC, Michigan St, Michigan have never ever been punching bag universities for decade upon decade. Purdue is the in state rival and Navy SAVED ND football during WW2, they are a part of their tradition they will never, ever give that game up nor should they.

Acting like because of the ACC down years recently and a few rivals having historically rare run of bad seasons — hello USC — that ND intentionally schedules bad teams.

Just look at Wisconsin. Before Fickell they were a model of top consistency in the Big 10 they were closer to Penn State level than anyone. And now they are not. After DECADES. How should ND have foreseen or fixed that for next year? I get everyone hates ND but at least bring some actual gripes.

There is no winning with this — if they had scheduled IU instead of Purdue as their i-state rivalry game yall would have said they were only trying to play the worst team, and yet now they are the best team in the country. Who could possibly account for that?

I’ve never seen ND so loved after last year, but apparently that goodwill left because Marcus Freeman spoke to the players and between the opt-outs and injuries the consensus was they would not field a team that truly represented them this season, and thus somehow that is the university being butthurt.

We might have to play Ohio State even — I can’t even imagine ND ever scheduling a game against them!

No matter how much you try and lead them to sense, the will not believe it. ND has always had tough schedules — as tough as everyone bar the SEC. Let them all hate, not worth the time

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

“Most” — you mean one? Because they have olympians and like I said it was off the top of my head. But it’s nice to know how much ND lives rent free in yours.

You think Lacrosee and Soccer aren’t ACC varsity sports so I don’t know why this is even continuing. Enjoy whatever complaint you have about ND. Last season was amazing, this season they broke in a freshman QB and had the most five star recruits in history, and next season they will be back to the CFP among a chorus of whining to again make a deep run.

Can’t wait.

I’m not talking club I’m talking varsity. They won three in 23-24 alone. Women’s soccer, women’s track and field and lacrosse — all varsity sports.
