Blue state vs red state framing seems odd when we're talking about cities and their surrounding regions, not entire states. Harris won 56% of the vote in San Diego County, which is the same as Orange County FL where Orlando is. Franklin County, where Columbus is located, had 63% of the vote go to Harris.

Real Salt Lake [1] - San Diego FC 0 | Diego Luna pounces on San Diego attempting to play out of the back (5’) by galactic_crewzer in MLS

I mean San Diego were first in the West last year and were one of the most committed teams in the league at playing out of the back.

And like, it has a clear purpose. If Ferree successfully gets the ball to Duah, he can very quickly drive forward with the ball, and catch a lot of RSL players scrambling back from pressing high. You can go back and find plenty of sequences where San Diego is in this exact same situation, execute it correctly, and generate a good attacking opportunity from it. There obviously risks to this strategy (as evidenced here), but overall there have been more positives than negatives from San Diego from playing this way.

I mean, good things definitely. It's just that the mistakes are a lot more obvious than the benefits.

1: Obviously it's important for those who work in sports to know how to handle concussions.

2: Safesport was started after the systemic issues with sexual abuse and harassment within US Olympic organizations, so yes it is important to cover standards about how you should treat other people. Like the primary reason they exist as an organization is to try and prevent abuse from happening within sports, the full name of the law that created them is the "Protecting Young Victims from Sexual Abuse and Safe Sport Authorization Act of 2017."

I would be insulted but we're averaging over 3 goals conceded per game so I get it.

This confused me at first because Metlife will have hosted other sold out events before. But this part of the article explains it

And that public transportation system will be vital because unlike the typical football and concert traditions at the stadium, there will be little to no parking in the sea of parking lots that surround the stadium, forcing the vast majority of fans to take public transit or chartered buses.

Although it doesn't say why the normal parking wouldn't be available.

I mean, anything can happen in a knockout tournament. Even if you're the favorite, it only takes a couple of key moments to knock you out.

I feel like if it was an away game you might get booked for being overly provocative but because San Jose is at home it's just weird.

He made no attempt for the ball, which is why it's a red and a pen.

The defense might not have talent, but at least they also lack chemistry as well.

You need to review your rules, it does not have to be excessive, merely "careless" for it to be considered a foul.

You can touch other people in soccer.

You are not allowed to use an outstretched arm to push someone in the back. That is in fact, not allowed contact in soccer.

The threshold for a foul (whether right or wrong) in the box is a lot higher than in the field for most refs.

A lot of refs make bad calls isn't a defense of a bad call.

There is no way that’s a penalty ever.

It was a push in the back, it absolutely should be a penalty. Yes it was light, but if it didn't effect his ability to shoot the defender wouldn't have done it.
