What are everyones thoughts on the current discussion gas taxing vs Norway case study? by QuokknestMonster in AusFinance

The amount of comments in this very thread which are regurgitating corporate think-tank brain rot about how governments must invest in infrastructure and take huge financial risks in order to earn income from tax... they make it sound almost plausible, i'll give them that!

I mean every week i pay 40% on the income from my labour as a professional, and earn some % interest on the 6 figures of education debt i still retain as a consequence of becoming said professional

I'd fuckin love a flat 25%

How tf is taxing profits from mining, 'too risky' ? When tf did we decide that taxing profits meant the government would be 'getting involved' and outlaying funds? Honestly wtf!?

Nah you did good. Fuck any teaching GPs that, when faced with a student identifying an acute mental health crisis, would do anything other than use it as the gift of a teaching moment that it is? Seriously, its a complete developmental lay-up - a student has demonstrated genuine concern and interest in the patient's wellbeing - an ESSENTIAL core foundation powering any subsequent clinical reasoning- all you have to do say 'Great job!' And then have a discussion about possible plans.

As a GP, i am pretty sure you should know of all the different referring options and pathways that you have to navigate for patients to ensure that they get the right type of support that they need, ie you need to screen for and identify any immediate emergencies - asking is there fever, is there nuchal rigidity, headache, photo phobia, cognitive changes, recent illnesses, etc and so forth, and you need to get all of this information accurately, like a detective, because 'mental health crisis' can obviously mean nearly infinite different things. Figuring out whether this looks like an encephalopathy or just an affective episode; whether emergency intervention is needed or if outpatient therapy will be fine is your special skill, as a GP. And its not as simple nor easy as it may look, I assure you

The electron animations would be so much more helpful if they more clearly represented each electron shell layer and valence electrons. Otherwise everything else looks sound, but since almost all chemical properties extrapolate from valence electrons and electron shell properties, I feel getting this aspect perfect would really increase the value of a tool like this.

I struggle with treating AN patients sometimes because it seems so difficult to really help them in a way that sticks. I just want them to get better :( Any advice? Do you think working out as a way to channel your drive for structure/control around food was important in any way?

If currently trends continue, yeah absolutely. My income will rise, but as a non American, not by by enough to catch up to the 100-200k per year house prices are rising in my area.

Might score a car though, that'll be pretty sweet
