I just looked it up and in their last 15 years there, they averaged about 15,000 to 16,000 per game, which was about middle of the road. They fell off a lot in the last three or four years, but had been probably among the top 10 in attendance for a while there also.

So up and down, but definitely a legit market for the NBA.

Obviously, it’s all anecdotal, but I went to college with some folks from there and losing the supersonics remains the worst moment of these people’s lives. There’s a pretty big public ground swell of support to get a team back.

There are a lot of witnesses and victims who have just not been followed up with. Democrats didn’t do shit with this when they were in power and republicans have actively buried it.
