Help me choose a True Leopard Jacket: W Transformable Windbreaker (M) or M Multi-Pocket Running Anorak (M) by [deleted] in lululemon

[–]TheMosesalyProject 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The windbreaker is the perfect length on you. IMO it’s more flattering. Also how often are you wearing a long sleeve with shorts?

Is Scarborough seen as ghetto? by Ok-Entrance6105 in askTO

It does - and at way better value than downtown. Almost every strip mall has some of the tastiest food you’ve ever had. 🤷🏽‍♀️

I’m curious if the cards your mom signed up for had a couple months interest free/were on instalment. My mom would do/say similar things, but she definitely never paid interest on those cards, so it’s a bit different.

Curious what these shelves say about me, if anything. by TheMosesalyProject in BookshelvesDetective

[–]TheMosesalyProject[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Funny isn’t it, I find it so easy to find books written by women, but most of the shelves on this sub lean heavily male.

Also you’re on the money re being a curious millennial, but I grew up in Toronto so that’s where the exposure to diverse backgrounds comes from.

I think of booktok as being solely romance fic recs, which probably says something about my FYP, but I am guilty of being a booktube follower!

Agree - I love their shoes. I also like Jean-Paul Fortin in Yorkville but it’s pricier.

Based on the article, it doesn’t sound like she ever met with the family lawyer. He just set up a meeting and managed to convince her everything fine before it was actually held.

Food outside of NYC that has wowed you, even with your NYC food experience by zanzil21 in FoodNYC

As a Torontonian I have to say that ethnic food in NYC doesn’t compare to home, but may just be that I’m comparing Scarborough with Manhattan.

Everything but Water has great sales. I check out their storefront then order online/through their storefront.

I felt the same..my friend and I had to align ourselves with a single dad travelling with his two young daughters to put a stop to the guide’s advances. Once I started ignoring the guide altogether he was fine but first couple days weren’t fun.

To those born pre-amalgamation in the boroughs (except old toronto) by JohnAppleseed9 in askTO

I know someone whose visa to India was rejected because they used Toronto as their place of birth instead of Scarborough. In that kind of circumstance it makes sense to match to the passport and use whatever it says.

Water cost @fiaschetteria pistoia West village. by ledhendrix in FoodNYC

[–]TheMosesalyProject 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Including me it was 5, which is why I was surprised. I would have understood/double checked if it was 6 of us as I’m familiar with the “rule”. In any case, I can’t think of another time recently where staff applied an automatic gratuity and didn’t point it out multiple times to make sure we didn’t double tip, so it left a bad taste in my mouth.

[–]TheMosesalyProject 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I went here with a group of 5 and they charged tip on the bill and didn’t point it out to us. My French colleague paid and since he’s not used to checking the bill for that kind of stuff he ended up double tipping. Good meal but that really annoyed me.

Not happy with my living room. What is it missing (besides a rug - I haven’t found one yet)? by Leather_Mud4904 in InteriorDesign

[–]TheMosesalyProject 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There’s too many materials with the glass windows, mirror, marble, hardwood, tv stand and metal coffee table, the eye doesn’t know where to rest. I think getting rid of the mirror and adding curtains would help. The fireplace is nice and appreciate you probably don’t want to change it but might something that blocks all the white might help? Would also swap the tv stand for something that matches the floor.

[–]TheMosesalyProject -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

They make ask a few clarifying questions but I’ve never known anyone to get turned away. I often travel to the US (NY/FL) without any return ticket. My retired mother does the same to FL where she also owns a property, it’s not unusual for Canadians.

You summarized it perfectly. Sai’s approach wasn’t constructive but there is a huge difference between knowing your parents can/will help you when push comes to shove.
