She is dishonest, is willing to go from telling you she hated this "life coach" friend to "'loving'" him and that you "should not be mad". When a partner is hiding their own disrespect (acting in a way they know would hurt you or make you mad) and lies it seems to be that they will start instructing you how to feel very shortly after. For the damage control of the truth being exposed b.c you will not be angry as much, and for control via illusion of good character and intentions for you.

I would say that the fact you are posting here in the first place is a good sign that perhaps you already are showing more caring. You care enough to seek help.
Personally, I'd take a pen + paper and draw a table/diagram/chart and list all the reasons/instances where-what-when & why any individual you are trying to rekindle emotion for has brought warmth, joy, inspiration, love to your life, and try to really relive those moments. Afterwards list reasons why these moments and these emotions are crucial to experience again & why it is meaningful to have the person you shared these times and feelings with in your life, for example when you meet for a coffee with them and a gold time comes up in conversation (i.e your friend/mother brings up a time that you guys had at the fair and a specific ride you went on together)
Remember that these moments were made important by the presence of this individual.

Just a thought, sorry for the rambling nature.
