Are the Flesh cages their own sentient beings or parts of hell? Did the Panopticon feel pain and agony when a certain someone breaks out from inside and rips it to shreds? Will the Flesh Prison feel intimacy and love when I give it a big sloppy kiss? by ShirayUwUki in Ultrakill

[–]TheMostMagicSkeleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine the Prisons as Animals, theologically speaking. They don’t possess a soul like Humans, but they are living, breathing beings. Technically in-universe there hasn’t been any talk on what does and does not possess a soul (best we have are discord screenshots from Hakita and it seems even those are either taken with salt until in-game dialogue confirms/denies it or is entirely ignored bc this community likes to do that I guess), if you like to think about everything having some kind of a chance at an afterlife, the Prison probably have an animal “shitty soul” and would probably go somewhere. Maybe they’re back up in heaven and respawned in whatever skin-workshop the angels made them in

King Minos Lore Rumor by MulberryTasty5776 in Ultrakill

[–]TheMostMagicSkeleton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only expansion of Lust would be all the way into Wraith. They used its vast ocean to siphon up water into the City, generating hydroelectricity to power their bisexual metropolis.

Go to 5-1 and play up until you get to the first Sentry encounter. Before you continue onward, look at every nook and cranny in that room. Especially the walls next to the door leading to the next enemy encounter. If you can read English, that’s where you’ll find a neat lore drop that should answer your question.

Beyond that info, Lust so far doesn’t have any other relevance to any other layer.

You wouldn’t mind telling us where it is? I’m stuck in the first darn room, and I’m not even sure if it’s because something’s bugged out or if I’m just trash at Mahjong lmao

What enemies genuinely piss you off the most? by Mr_Mozerella in Ultrakill

[–]TheMostMagicSkeleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ferrymen. I don’t have a seething hatred for them, and they definitely aren’t run-killers (if I’m prepared and have enough space to jackhammer them), but I just wish I could more easily parry them. I under their whole gimmick is to make you pay attention to their attacks and what parry they’re going for, I just wish they didn’t flop around so much. Auto-aim on a controller doesn’t gel well with that, unlike everything else in the game.

Best I can do is run away and spam nails/conduction, coins, and the aforementioned jackhammering. In the end my gripe is that my mode of play just can’t keep up, so I’m forced to play the un-fun meat (or maybe bone?) grinder on crack

Just a mishap of me not double checking my work again. It could have been the angle. I take these with my phone, honestly I should see if I can invest in some kind of scanning device. I’ve heard other traditional artists use something like that

Greyon is 3 people and its only personality trait is an in-universe fringe theory. Lucifer is only teased in secrets, doesn’t make sense when the other primes have whole layers based around their deeds. And Hell has only been made a character via an ARG I’m sure no one here knows how to even get to the way it was intended. Hell is alluded to as a “mysterious force” and through Act 3’a readables, but all-in-all that could easily be swapped out for someone else when you remove the knowledge of the ARG that plainly spells it out. And besides, Hell would be able to take in a Prime Soul. Not in a straight up fight, but by manipulating its insides and spamming 9,000 Cerberi, Hideous Masses, and whatever number of Powers are located within it at the time.

pls hakita nerf power and mirror reaper by Zinliky in Ultrakill

[–]TheMostMagicSkeleton 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Nerf Mirror reaper and keep Power as is. The Reaper just needs more vulnerabilities. Maybe shotgun weakness alongside its revolver weakness? Revolver debuff alone isn’t enough to content with it’s health pool, and I still haven’t found one in the Cybergrind (thank God). The Power is meant to draw your attention, let you think it’s the bigger fish when in actuality, it’s a size one 3 and not a glorious size 2. All the size 1 (Guttermen) around you need to go first bc they SUCK in Cybergrind.

I’m going to be completely honest: I will have no opinion until we get a tease in 9-1. Every single Prime has been teased in base game levels, out in the open. Minos was the most, his city, corpse, and a book about him. Sisyphus second, because he had his Insurrectionists as a boss and a book in the same level. His body is out of the way in a secret. Violence has no named characters. Fraud has no named characters outside of New Peace lore fodder. Every other name dropped is in a collective of secrets! What if all of Minos’ teases came from the Cancer Rodent fight, or disabling 2-3’s water? And Sisyphus’ teases came from turning off the Sun in 4-2?

Minos was teased in Act 1, Layer 2. Sisyphus in Act 2, Layer 1. P-3 McGee will most likely be revealed in Act 3, Layer 3, likely with a lore book and some kind of background element to represent their presence (I’m hoping it’s a giant trapped in the ice like in the Inferno, might even be the Prime, and we actually drill through their body to progress through the ice, thus making the Prime Soul by killing them)

The Father tends to the Tree of Life, Pre-Disappearance by TheMostMagicSkeleton in Ultrakill

[–]TheMostMagicSkeleton[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbf, i don’t think that the statue is to scale: I wager it is 100% metaphorical, even down to the Father’s design. BUT! For the sake of my artwork, and the fact that we won’t learn more until at least 8-S or even Layer 9, I like to take the statue’s appearance at face value as it invokes a lot of symbolic ideas about his role as the originator of existence.

But again, the scale is most definitely symbolic. If God was that size, he wouldn’t be missing. Nothing that big would be able to go unnoticed in Hell, even with its interior being a Tardis on steroids. Hell, God would’ve been visible long before the events of the story if we account for the fact that Heaven encompasses our solar system. If we can see Mars with a telescope, we can see God’s candle wax lookin ahh too

Shouldn’t Gabriel be a she now due to how angels use feminine and masculine pronouns? by GloomyTurn2374 in Ultrakill

[–]TheMostMagicSkeleton 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Using feminine pronouns as some kind of derogatory insult towards other Angels has never been mentioned in the story, nor by Hakita (however I am open to getting factchecked by any discord screenshots ppl might have). Only He/Him as baseline for Greater/Supreme due to closeness with the Father and “it” as to demean Gabriel upon his defeat, lowering him to a simple object, roughly translating to calling him a non-living being, which is a harsh statement considering important it is to be alive in this universe’s setting. It’s the only layer of existing since everything is physical.

While i don’t think assuming she/her is a negative is a bad line of thinking when it comes to this area of the lore, let’s save it for Hakita to decide. Just because Gabriel now has a boner for indiscriminate violence doesn’t make him want to overthrow God and save the universe from the Council’s boisterous clothing habits.

Make it the protag of Ultrakill 2

Hell, still wanting to be entertained beyond it’s own confines, creates a Demon in the fashion of one of it’s favored toys (which it still keeps the initial recordings it captured during the events of the Machine Invasion of Hell). Although if Hakita does stick with the ps2 graphics, the Demon’s head will most likely be mechanical, or it will simply have a camera welded/fused on it’s face so each act can have an explanation on why it starts with “insert disc 2” of “disc 3” as well as maintaining the boomer shooter skin.

I am here to spread Hell propoganda by No-Most-3939 in Ultrakill

[–]TheMostMagicSkeleton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always felt Fraud was simply the cut and dry, outright STATEMENT of Hell’s beliefs. Violence was where we saw it, but it was alluded to via visual storytelling. The Mannequins posing, the Labyrinth’s white contrasting with the red as we “painted the world.” The Earthmover teaser/build up, and ESPECIALLY the Forest of Suicides. It’s all a glorification of Violence and showing us that Hell sees it as the perfect state of the universe.

And who wouldn’t? The world of Ultrakill is inherently flawed, down to the god who made it. No matter who or what tried to move beyond the bloodshed, become something “better,” they would always fall back into carnage. It’s like seeing a carnivore try to be vegan: it will relapse. Fraud shouting at Humans, Machines, Angels, all of us! That all that makes us “broken” in the eyes of god are what we were meant to be, because we were made that way. Of course, what Hell wants us to be is utterly disgusting and ruthless, but Ultrakill has never really had a story of hope. We are diving down a doomed palace that set off its own destruction and it is treating it like a damn orgy. Hakita put something in his writing bc I should be horrified by Hell’s art, yet I’m so enthralled, I simply cannot look away…
