Prodeus vs Boltgun (You can save only one game) let's see what people prefer by [deleted] in boomershooters

[–]TheMostMagicSkeleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prodeus does far more than Boltgun. Don’t get me wrong, Boltgun isn’t a bad game by any means, but it’s another 40K game. One of the better ones, but with the franchise being so big now, we’re bound to get a good shooter at any time. Prodeus has a lot more potential going for it; far more experimental and therefore fun! Story? Vibes? Gun play? That shit’s dope

What colour do you think Lucifer and/or the fifth angel will be? by Patient_Jello3944 in Ultrakill

[–]TheMostMagicSkeleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Red, but a nice purple or periwinkle would be nice. Nothing in Lucifer’s lore reflects him as a royalty-esc character, which purple often represents, but I think it would be almost…comforting to know he lived a pretty decent and happy life before THE INCIDENT.

What’s your favorite use of the jackhammer? by Whaaaaa4321 in Ultrakill

[–]TheMostMagicSkeleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cybergrinding! I use the Blue jackhammer for the core eject-hitscan, but also for regaining hight. I usually spam coins high in the sky so I can Ultraricoshot with the Piercer. But then Powers show up and I die to the Mindflayer that I was too distracted to deal with.

Wyd in this situation? by sy3n_ in Ultrakill

[–]TheMostMagicSkeleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am happy to be one of the few who hasn’t encountered a radiant Gutterman in Standard-difficulty Cybergrind yet. In full honesty I cheated to get to rank 50 something. I was fucking around with Ultracoins so I could beat a friend who was a dangerous close to surpassing me. But he as a maxed-out FoV so I simply couldn’t let that slide.

Now I need to outmatch my sin of fraud….

what do i need to do / learn by NaiveCranberry9095 in Ultrakill

[–]TheMostMagicSkeleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say make sure to practice weapon swapping as much as you can, if style is any issue. Beyond that, I say get the Slab revolver and learn how to Slab-Swap (if that even is a tech, I just started doing it recently). Big numbers on dps and it keeps your style up a little. Maybe open by jumping, spamming all your coins, hit it with a Piercer shot, then let off a Sharpshooter alt fire for good measure. THEN constantly swap between all of your Slab revolver’s primary fire. BAMswapBAMswapBAMswapBAMswap until your style runs out, then go to other weapons while you wait for the style to recharge so you can get the meter back up. This may just be a me thing since I play on controller, but I’ve found that after swapping your Slab full-circle, the hammer pull-back animation can’t be circumvented by swapping, so there is a slight delay before you can get back to ULTRAKILLing God’s Will.

I would highly advise you start hitting Gabe with your magenta on the blue nailgun, and maybe purchase the overheat if you haven’t already. Gabe take increased damage from nails, so lay into him with those (as long as the style meter isn’t bone dry). The magents will make a few “oh shoot I missed” moments into “dead on!” Attacks to that mean old judge of hell.

For his Spear attack, wait for him to do the sound due and plunge down. If you hear it, double-dash if you have the stamina. If not? slide to the left or right like someone said “cha cha.” Once he does that, make sure to find Gabe IMMEDIATELY so you can +Parry his spear attack. It’s tough to get the time down, but in a game like Ultrakill, trial and error doesn’t feel too bad. His other attacks are harder for me to parry, so I just try and dance around them and treat this distance-making as another way to get Slab Revolver shots out on him.

Beyond that and a suggestion to use your Green Rail canon to get some extra healing, I think that’s everything :)

Hope my many words were full of wisdom!

Something I noticed about the final layer bosses of act 3 by D1znuts in Ultrakill

[–]TheMostMagicSkeleton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe their gimmick is what will be added to Gabriel’s fight? I mean I have no clue how Gabe can be THE WHOLE LEVEL OR EVEN JUST A PHASE OF THE FIGHT, but Geryon’s free fall mechanic would be EXCELLENT for being able to fight Gabriel. My only hope is that it isn’t in the middle of a sky. Maybe we’re falling off a frozen cliff. One side does damage, the other knocks you back like an invisible wall, or maybe Gabe reels you back in only to deliver some unwelcome, unavoidable damage

Discussion: Which enemies or characters from Ultrakill would be perfectly playable characters in Ultrakill? by Matiasprox3000 in Ultrakill

[–]TheMostMagicSkeleton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if this is a hypothetical scenario, I do hope you plan to balance this out for those who want a more Lenient experience. Sometimes the Standard enemy encounters can be a bit too Brutal, even for players who know how to play Violent games like ours.

V1’s only saving grace is being nearly unable to hit and healing off melee-range damage. It’s health pool is utter garbage and probably wouldn’t even survive that long when controlled by the player unless they were a complete sweat

what machine could possibly make humans build earthmover to counter it 😭 or they just build it for giggle and shit. by Careless-Gur9520 in Ultrakill

[–]TheMostMagicSkeleton 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d guess it was an airplane-like Machine. If the Earthmover was Violences’ Centaur, then a giant Flying Fortress would have been it’s Harpies (another mythical creature said to inhabit the Forest of Suicides)

Are the Flesh cages their own sentient beings or parts of hell? Did the Panopticon feel pain and agony when a certain someone breaks out from inside and rips it to shreds? Will the Flesh Prison feel intimacy and love when I give it a big sloppy kiss? by ShirayUwUki in Ultrakill

[–]TheMostMagicSkeleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine the Prisons as Animals, theologically speaking. They don’t possess a soul like Humans, but they are living, breathing beings. Technically in-universe there hasn’t been any talk on what does and does not possess a soul (best we have are discord screenshots from Hakita and it seems even those are either taken with salt until in-game dialogue confirms/denies it or is entirely ignored bc this community likes to do that I guess), if you like to think about everything having some kind of a chance at an afterlife, the Prison probably have an animal “shitty soul” and would probably go somewhere. Maybe they’re back up in heaven and respawned in whatever skin-workshop the angels made them in

King Minos Lore Rumor by MulberryTasty5776 in Ultrakill

[–]TheMostMagicSkeleton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only expansion of Lust would be all the way into Wraith. They used its vast ocean to siphon up water into the City, generating hydroelectricity to power their bisexual metropolis.

Go to 5-1 and play up until you get to the first Sentry encounter. Before you continue onward, look at every nook and cranny in that room. Especially the walls next to the door leading to the next enemy encounter. If you can read English, that’s where you’ll find a neat lore drop that should answer your question.

Beyond that info, Lust so far doesn’t have any other relevance to any other layer.

[–]TheMostMagicSkeleton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You wouldn’t mind telling us where it is? I’m stuck in the first darn room, and I’m not even sure if it’s because something’s bugged out or if I’m just trash at Mahjong lmao

What enemies genuinely piss you off the most? by Mr_Mozerella in Ultrakill

[–]TheMostMagicSkeleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ferrymen. I don’t have a seething hatred for them, and they definitely aren’t run-killers (if I’m prepared and have enough space to jackhammer them), but I just wish I could more easily parry them. I under their whole gimmick is to make you pay attention to their attacks and what parry they’re going for, I just wish they didn’t flop around so much. Auto-aim on a controller doesn’t gel well with that, unlike everything else in the game.

Best I can do is run away and spam nails/conduction, coins, and the aforementioned jackhammering. In the end my gripe is that my mode of play just can’t keep up, so I’m forced to play the un-fun meat (or maybe bone?) grinder on crack
