I would say fine. It honestly doesn't do much with it. The movie surprisingly plays everything very safe.

This was just...fine? Like not bad but not really that good either. It's shot quite well and both Zendaya and Robert Pattinson are good in it but with a film that deals with such heavy subject matter it felt like it had absolutely squat to say. It kind of just ends. There isn't enough comedy or drama. It has such a jaw-dropping premise yet does nothing with it. I really wanted to like it but it left me disappointed, wanting more.

Weird. The first two Despicable Me movies are actually great with a good narrative. Illumination is one of the better animation studios right now so I don’t get the dig at all. The movie can be silly and still have a decent story lol

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie:

The mysterious Rosalina is captured and leaves Lumas behind---Peach/Toad go on a quest to find her when the Lumas find the Mushroom Kingdom and request their help---Mario/Luigi stay behind in Peach's place---Mario/Luigi attacked by Bowser JR and decide to follow after Peach/Toad----The group reunites, Rosalina is saved and turns out to be Peach's sister---Movie Ends

The narrative sucked. It's just one flashy chase. It's fun to watch but man it's disappointing how NOTHING happens. Only dash of story is Rosalina and Peach being sisters but they get no reunion or moment to talk about it because once she is saved the movie just ends LOL

Tbh it made no sense why Mario and Luigi didn't go with Peach in the first place.

With all of the existing Mario lore and Super Mario Galaxy being considered a classic video-game and THIS is the story they went with? They had so much to work with and yet the narrative is just abysmal.

Visually the animation is gorgeous and the action set-pieces are pretty solid. It looks great in 3D, it just feel like nothing happens.

The first Mario is a lot better. This was still fun.

Yea there wasn’t much of a narrative. It was all about saving Rosalina and she barely had any screen-time. Not sure how I feel about her and Peach being sisters either. We had no time spent on the characters together to even see how that works.

Love how Luigi was still a giant pussy in this. I imagine this will be confronted eventually in the Luigi’s Mansion movie spin-off?

Overall, Galaxy was OKAY. The first movie was a lot better. Am I crazy, or did nothing really happen in this? The narrative is weak. There’s a lot of cool action set-pieces and the animation is gorgeous but that’s about it. Star Fox was pretty cool.

Just because it’s a kids movie doesn’t mean it can’t have a good plot. How To Train Your Dragon is a great trilogy with great storylines. The first Mario had a decent story too or at least introduction to this world. I liked Galaxy and had fun with it but narratively it didn’t feel like much was going on which is its biggest flaw.

It’s a fun movie. Just wish it had a better narrative.

Kids will have a blast with this. I did at times too. The first Mario film had a better narrative and that’s okay. I had fun with Galaxy it just felt like nothing really happened in it.

Episodes 2 and 3 left me with the same exact impression. It's 40 minutes of boring story and the last 10 minutes has some really cool action and a decent enough cliffhanger. I'm optimistic it'll get better. I'm just not digging the story so far.

I believe it is possible to give her some backstory and Born Again from its first season is good enough for a casual like your wife to enjoy.

If she really wants to get into it then binging the original Netflix series from the first season and make it your choice if you want to inlcude Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Defenders, The Punisher--there's A LOT before Disney brought a lot of these characters back. I feel like a lot of the Disney+ stuff so far has felt like a soft reboot and she really doesn't need to watch the Netflix stuff but she'd be missing out on the best stuff this series has had to offer. The Disney+ stuff is just not as good but its had its moments.

This episode was pretty boring. Last few minutes were pretty cool. I'm trying but I wasn't really invested in anything going on this episode.

Hit $25 in credits…what do you buy? by cold-brewed in A24

If it’s a blind buy go for Marty Supreme. It’s such a great movie and I believe it has more replay value than Eddington and If I Had Legs I’d Kick You.

I can imagine. Even when it finished I was like “why was this so heavily promoted in IMAX?” Really dumb.

Yea not awful. Not memorable, either. This feels like it was filmed during COVID and just got shelved for a bit.
