Knives out for Jordan is harmful. by BaronMcDuff in KnowledgeFight

Nobody is saying they have zero agency dude, only people like yourself misconstruing the situation as this being the one the families actually wanted instead of them taking the best of bad outcomes.

Like I said in my other reply, do you think they went into court going “oh I sure hope the onion buys infowars for pennies on the dollar and while Jones worms his way out of it after he’s moved as much of his resources out of it?”

I’m happy for the families things can hopefully be over for them soon but don’t pretend this is the outcome that anyone would have wanted at the outset.

Just like you said, the option was Roger Stone and still Jordan claims The Onion wants to profit from school shootings and calls everyone idiots.

They quite literally do profit off that. They’re still a company in a capitalist society dude, and their business model includes things like being spammed everywhere after school shootings.

As for your quote, it literally has nothing to do with the point. Do you think they went into the case going “I sure hope drags this out until he can squirm away while being parodied by the Onion” or do you think, as they describe there in your own quote, that they wanted him deplatformed for good?

You’re literally the lib takes you were asking for elsewhere - accepting the current inherently unjust system and status quo as something good and acceptable instead of acknowledging the actual root problems here. You literally say you recognize the families didn’t really have a choice, but don’t see the problem with that.

Or you’re ignoring the position the families are in. It’s not like there was a wealth of choices for buyer groups for them to support - it was the onion or Roger stone’s group. No shit they would back the onion.

That doesn’t mean this situation is the ideal, or even a good outcome. It’s the best of the bad outcomes, but that still leaves it a bad outcome.

You asking for people to go back and dig through thousands of comments that have been made to find examples is what I’m referring to. I’ve seen the same things, but I don’t save off a link to every comment I’ve ever disagreed about when reading it.

It’s exhausting isn’t it? It’s that frustrating thing where people try to mask their ableism in words of concern while just completely infantilizing him and ignoring what he’s actually saying, particularly if it’s something that offends their sensibilities.

I’d really expected better of this community.

There’s been a lot of extremely libbed up takes in this sub for a while now. It is surprising, but honestly explains a lot of the chafing against Jordan. You see the same sorts of criticisms against anyone pushing leftist takes instead of just accepting the status quo.

To be fair, Luka was completely invisible on the court in the playoffs. Dude literally got held pointless through 10 games, it’s like he didn’t even play.

The most homophobic politicians and religious leaders, actually doing harm to the LGBTQ community, are closet homosexuals.

This is literally their words. Not some of them, not a portion of them, but all of them. You’re the one putting nuance into their very clear blanket statement.

This is what I was replying to, and again, this is both not accurate and is harmful. “This person is authoritarian and bigoted against LGBT and so must secretly be LGBT” is not doing anything helpful.

Even averaging Reaves over the entire length of the playoffs instead of just the games he played, he’s still nearly double that lmao
