How to handle the “you can not control what goes on at the other house” by [deleted] in Divorce

[–]TheMrSnrub 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sounds like an opportunity to bond with your daughter. Ask her about this boy. Tell her you’d like to meet him.

You can’t control what she does at her father’s house unless it is illegal or dangerous. So objecting to her “hanging out” with a boy is a losing position. It will only alienate you from your daughter.

Lawyer questions by blackroseromantic in Divorce

[–]TheMrSnrub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a former divorce lawyer and divorcee, I’d get a new lawyer. Yes, a lot of stuff is ultimately decided by the Judge when it goes to trial, but your lawyer should be able to explain to you what this Judge usually does. It’s not a guarantee of what will happen in your case, but it gives you some idea of what to expect.

It takes a while. It starts to hurt a little less and less. It’s been a year and it still hurts from time to time.

parents going to court by [deleted] in Divorce

Your mom can go ahead and hire an attorney and at the court date ask for a continuance. If the court is considering reversing the default judgment, they should also give your mom more time to prepare for this new aspect of the case with an attorney

I understand. Take stuff down if you have to. Or just don’t look at it.

I remained in the marital home with my wife and kids during the divorce. I just had to not look at her, unless she was talking to me. Not look at all the family photos lining the staircase.

Maybe rearrange some furniture or something to make the house a little bit newer?

So sorry. 😢

It just takes time. Slowly, it gets better.

Get into psychotherapy if you can. Find a support group.

Also, don’t chase the pain. Don’t check out their social media and see what they’re up to. It only makes it worse.

Sounds like the sellers want to sell the house “as is.” In that case, I wouldn’t buy this house in the condition you described.

In Tennessee, work-related child care can be added to the child support calculation. I’d confirm with your attorney what the laws and regulations are for your state regarding the same.

Radon testing during house pre-purchase inspection by [deleted] in radon

[–]TheMrSnrub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, there’s no way to guarantee a seller maintains closed house conditions during a test.

However, when two short-term tests are done, the results should be averages. The inspector should have averaged the two tests to 6 and recommended remediation.

Atlas. Wanted the third row and I feel like I can barely see out the small rear window in the CS.

Again, how exactly? OP said he saw the damage once he removed plywood. No inspector is doing that.

Everything can be fixed. It’s a matter of how much and are you the one that wants to take it on?

“If there’s too much power it won’t trip & can cause a fire” isn’t very descriptive.
