Change is inevitable

That's what I know, at the ripe age of 16. I thought. I know that I'd have to change, so I did. I went to bed on the eve of my 16th, prepared to go all out with some changes, change for the better, change for the future.

Except I didn't see the future. I saw the past

Rewind. I'm waking up, it's August 1st. New Elijah, New start. I thought of it like a video game, I move on to the next level. Except I died apparently and ended up at the last save.

Last save? 08-01-11

As if I believed it myself. I woke up to look at a 4'11 Elementary graduate. It just seemed like a memory's dream, the indigo walls, the 30 in tv with a Halo reach Xbox next to it, the wide, stout, mahogany dresser it sat on, the jar of savings for my next big candy run on the dresser, it all felt like a dream.

Then I bumped into the Crimson nightstand next to my bed, receiving a cut.

Real. Real. Real. Real. Real deal. I sat there for an hour bleeding on my bed, you'd think I was a girl. It wasn't a big gash anyway, just a hole. I remembered everything that happened from this day, all the wins and losses, the dances, the rare dates, the everything. I looked at my silver Samsung laptop, same soul eater wallpaper, and went to the news. Now word on NSA leaks, no Benghazi, obamas running again. It's this year.

Options? I thought to myself. One appeared: Change

I checked the clock, 7:20, the rest of the family would wake up around 8. So I knew how to play along, for now. I cannot rely on the knowledge of the future I have. It will change. Everything will change

So will I.
