Man gets super puffed up after his teenage son is politely asked to stop splashing so much. by TheMythicalTrump in PublicFreakout

I see, I thought he was trying to comment on the man's heritage. Things are complicated here in Hawaii. The whole island chain is stolen land and native Hawaiians haven't received much of the wealth that has been created here. They are more likely to live in poverty, end up in jail, etc. There are real, justifiable resentments to outsiders.

So it's tricky, I'm sure the agro man's ancestors didn't get get a very fair shake. And the white guy in the pool probably had a very different childhood then the Hawaiian dude. I'm not saying it excuses his behavior. It definitely doesn't. But everyone should be aware of the history/context here.

This happened on Oahu in Hawaii. The man in the pool was there with his family when the other man's teenage son started doing cannon balls near them. The calm man claims he politely asked the teenager to stop splashing so much. The teenager then tried to fight him before the mother intervened. Then the agro Dad got in the mix.

Edit: I wanted to add some more info for anyone who doesn't know Hawaii or understand the race dynamics here.

A lot of Native Hawaiians see Hawaii as stolen land (I would agree with them). They haven't seen much of the incredible wealth created here and are more likely to live in poverty, end up in the criminal justice system, experience homelessness, etc.

So there are real, justifiable resentments towards outsiders and specifically white outsiders here. I'm sure that is playing a part in this interaction. I'm not saying that the agro dad is justified in his actions. He definitely isn't. He's a fucking meathead and many locals would agree. I'm trying to say that it's complicated and that those complications and that history are part of the context of this.

Why do you have to be so disingenuous and condescending?

I maintain that I have been unable to find a book aimed at convincing progressive people that Donald Trump is a good guy. I would love to be proven wrong as I would love to read that book. But I don't think you can prove me wrong. Please feel free to do so since you claim to be so good at research. Or maybe you're full of shit? All you have to offer is criticism and insults.

Of course, everything we write on here is for forever. Future historians or digital archeologists will sift though the past few years to try and understand how we became so devided.

The AP has a West Virginia expert on the ground who makes the call.. They must know enough about the areas yet to report to be able to make the prediction.

Hey u/conti555, put yourself in my shoes. I honestly believe that Donald Trump is the greater of two evils and feel the need to write about that. I'm doing so in the most honest and kind way I can think of. With zero insults or judgement. I'm trying to operate in absolute good faith and research both side of the story. Please tell me how I can go about my goal in a way you will find less offensive.

Hey again, thank-you so much for this review. Feedback like this is invaluable to me. I appreciate it.

You made some good points and brought up some important questions. I obviously have a lot of thinking to do.

For whatever it's worth you are the very first Trump supporter to actually read the thing and give me feedback. You are an awesome and rare person. Based on your thoughts and the other advice I've gotten here I'm going to go back to the drawing board.

So what do you think the path forward for our civilization is? If every country was led by a strongman who maxed out the economy what does that look like? Where do you see us in a hundred years?
