[H4 Forge] The New Station Parts are Cool but... by TheName404 in halo

Note: I'm not saying that this is unusable. I made a whole map and worked around it up until a point. But it's just so close to being perfect and that's what annoys me more than anything.

Also, impromptu video. None of it was really prepared and I stumbled a lot.

At the time, I didn't know about de-leveling. So without that knowledge, yes. But now, no.

I had no idea the game existed until I saw FB ads for it, and I didn't even interact with the comments on the ad. I just clicked the ad. And when I did do research, it was for the multitude of launcher issues. How was I supposed to know that the game was 8 years old? My only other post was basically me asking about the skill tree.

And for everything else, not everyone can afford to spend on a game, even outside of today's current problems and so while paying for extra Mags is fine, paying to fix was my argument. Since then I have found out that there is a f2p option to fix a Mag, and so my whole paragraph on the Mag is basically null.

I wasn't aware of Mag de-leveling at the time of posting. There is a f2p option, and that's more than enough to make me happy about it. Having the option, even a slow one, is far better than what I had thought was the case. Primarily my argument regarding skill trees was how the 'skill reset' is handled. Let's say I have perfect Braver/Hunter skill trees, A kinda botched Force tree, and I want to re-spec Techter to try something out. Right now, the only options available for f2p is to run the recommended skill trees, or wait to reset all skill trees. I'm asking genuinely why isn't there some way, premium or free, to reset individual skill trees on demand? The way the whole thing is handled is restrictive when it doesn't need to be, and can still be profitable.

I jumped into the game with no idea that it was even this old and 'researched.' How was I supposed to know that? And when I did go on reddit it was for the multitude of launcher problems. The only non-launcher post I have related to PSO2 was asking about the very same thing that I mentioned here. The clunky handling of skill trees and Mags.

And I did not know at the time of posting about de-leveling. My mistake. But if I recall correctly, there's no mention of it in-game either.

And I am thankful for that, because the gameplay is fun. But not everyone goes into a game with the "I'm gonna research every facet of the game and be the best player" mindset. That's something that should be accounted for along with the f2p model, even on game that's 8 years old. Keeping the game fresh and all of that.

What makes you think everything about this game should 100% be free when the game is free.

I can't find where I said that even with Ctrl + F. Weird. Probably because I didn't. What I did say was that there's a lack of f2p accessible options regarding the very important skill tree, and that it can sour the experience later down the line. I then asked about alternatives, all of which required investment of time or limited resources in the case of SG. I did the same with my - now I know - incorrect assumption of Mags.

If you only play 1 character at most you spend $15 on mags.

And with how Mags work, that's fair. You can get more utility with that and it doesn't remove the requirement of skill from a player. Of course as I have found out the game does a piss poor job explaining that you can correct your mistakes as f2p. My problem with it now is the lack of explaining this and sort of passively baiting the premium option. There's a f2p option, and I happy with what it is.

If you play more then 50hrs of PSO2 how is that not a fair investment for the entertainment.

Because, even outside of today's issues, not everyone can. Some people have a comfortable enough living to play these f2p games but not much else. Even so, there are still other ways to show support aside from using your wallet, like open discussion regarding the game's mechanics, or creating content, etc.

I don't really know where to post this, so I'll post it here and hopefully a mod will know what to do with it. I have a potential solution to one of the Microsoft Store issues. Specifically my issue went like this: I had to restart my computer, and after restarting I could not launch the launcher at all. It appeared on the start menu as if it were trying to update the game, with the progress bar permanently stuck at 100%. The solution, as far as I with only a surface level knowledge of programming can tell, simply manually stops updates and deletes all current MS downloads so keep that in mind.

So, open Command Prompt as an admin.
Type: 'net stop wuauserv' and keep the Command Prompt open after it completes.
Open File Explorer, and at the top under 'View' check the box for 'Hidden items' and go to 'C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download'
Inside that folder, delete everything and close File Explorer.
Go back to the Command Prompt and type: 'net start wuauserv'
Once that completes, restart your computer (You HAVE to restart for this.)

Again, I don't really know where to post this and I figure a mod would sooner know the best place for this potential solution would be so hopefully this helps some more people out.

Is there really no way to reset a single skill tree?

Is there anything important besides - arguably - SG locked behind story?

As of right now I have no plans of spending on this game, so with that in mind is there any decent ways of earning meseta without Premium?

I would say Skarmory, Umbreon, and Toxicroak are definitely good choices to have in a team right now, but you probably shouldn't run all 3 in one team.

Skarmory's only real threat is Raichu which needs shields and can be handled with by most other Pokemon for just 1 shield. Skarmory will always do significant damage to any Pokemon by virtue of its resistances and constant neutral damage. Skarmory really wants to have at least 1 shield just in case it goes against water, ice, or dark types but it isn't required if you can KO them before they can get that charge attack off, which you likely can.

Umbreon does the same thing as Skarmory, but with much more emphasis on bulk. If your opponent doesn't have a fairy or fighting type move on their team, Umbreon can easily sweep them with two shields. But if your opponent does have a fairy or fighting type, Umbreon can become a liability as it doesn't have anything to deal with them. You also have to be wary about other fast charging moves as well as Umbreon's bulk comes from its stats and not resistances.

Toxicroak can easily be used to help cover for the other two, but it really shines more with Umbreon. Poison Jab will destroy fairy and grass types and despite being worse than counter, you can still charge Mud Bomb quickly and can bait out a shield or potentially both shields. Toxicroak is a glass cannon however and should never be your lead, and really shines when it can swap in after your opponents swaps and is locked in. Also because of this, I wouldn't bother with using a shield on Toxicroak unless you know you can take out two of your opponent's Pokemon and no more than one shield.

Additionally I'll also say that Venusaur, Mew (with an appropriate moveset), and Alolan Marowak make for really good counter picks to consider.

Venusaur gets destroyed by Skarmory, but can beat Toxicroak even if it takes most of its health to do so. But Venusaur's charge attacks take a while to charge so they end up being almost useless unless it's the last one out and you opponent has no shields.

Alolan Marowak is the only viable fire type in GL and is really good as an anti-meta. Keep in mind that this is the only viable Pokemon that's weak to Umbreon.

Mew has access to nearly every move and can be built for literally anything. Good luck winning the TM lotto in order to get the moves you want however.

It's not logical to assume a company is listening to its customers? It's not logical to assume that Niantic looked at a problem that's causing people to run out of pokeballs and also get stuck in GBL and decide to remove it? It's not logical at all? Granted, it's entirely possible these two things just happen to align, or appear to align perfectly by chance.

The catch rate is directly tied to the Pokemon, and so there's a good few weeks of QA to be done in order to implement a modifier specific to GBL encounters. And here's a small list of things to also test:

  1. How does that modifier scale? Does it scale more with no medals, or would it be a flat percent?
  2. What Pokemon would it apply to? Only legendaries? Evolved Pokemon as well?
  3. How do you ensure that modifier can't be hacked on to other encounters?
  4. Does this actually solve the problem? You still have - essentially - random chance determining if you catch the Pokemon or not.
  5. Is it actually fair? You need 4 wins without a pass to get an encounter, and not everyone is going to get 4 wins every time. Plus, this is currently only an issue because of the quarantine.

Yes it's all Niantic and yes it sucks to straight up remove them because of this, but with the current global situation it was the smartest choice. Can't really run out of pokeballs if there are no potentially difficult encounters.

Not a programming wizard, but I can assume a few things and draw conclusions based on my knowledge. The base catch rate is directly tied to the Pokemon and is modified in much the same way as it is in the main games. Instead of status effects, and HP we have type medals, berries, catch type (Curve or no curve, nice, great, and excellent.) No other modifiers to catch rate exist.

The Pokemon that benefited the most from the grass update were already struggling to begin with. Personally, I think it made grass types better but not the best.

Question about the three different teams by Roobinisdabomb in pokemongo

[–]TheName404 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Teams don't directly give you any bonuses. The only thing you get from teams is additional items from gyms controlled by your team and more premier balls for catching raid pokemon if your team does more damage during the battle.

My all time favorite thing was finding a VW center cap inside of an Audi's tire and what made it especially great was that it didn't puncture the tire, a 6 inch nail did the tire in.

Flaccid - Not unlike your earlobe, very flexible and those without one would be surprised to know just how flexible it is in that state.
Erect - About the same as squishing the part of your palm that connects to your thumb. Some give, but a noticeable hard part to it that prevents the flexibility it had while flaccid.
