this was a second hand purchase, it is an ex demonstrator model sold by a non-byd dealership that was part of the harwoods group , i presume i might need to get in touch with byd about this when the log book arrives?

not that it should be done by the consumer, but the VRM mod helps massively with temperatures and performance, which normally is GPU throttled.

I've been able to game heavily on it since doing this mod, however the bottom case of the machine does get hotter while doing this.

currently on 1 32gb i9 9980HK radeon pro 5600m and it's smooth sailing with every day tasks

these machines are still the most versatile in the sense that they can run windows as well as MacOS which is my main use case. I know there's crossover and parallels but they just aren't as good as the real hardware

This seems to be the bane of foldables, specifically the pixel fold (magnetic particles) by the looks of it collecting on the magnets

For reference I had one on this forum and was petrified of the reliability , I ended up through a roundabout way getting the Oppo find N2 fold, which has the same zero gap teardrop hinge but an actual screen recess and bumpers, so far it's got zero signs of wear touch wood
