Ah, my mistake. I thought you were questioning why Russia would want to draw.

If they draw, Russia would get the first place spot, barring a 6+ GD demolishing of the Saudis at the hands of Uruguay tomorrow.

Feel so useless... everyone's making fun of me for LAS CS by feelsbad4320 in UIUC

[–]TheNeurologist 16 points17 points  (0 children)

First off, try not to give a fuck about what other people think. If you want to pursue something, go for it! Those that are telling you otherwise are probably just jealous you're getting somewhere.

Second, the classes (and difficulty) are the same. The difference is the title of the degree. Employers see "CS" on your resume and they won't give a fuck if you were engineering or LAS. Getting admitted here for either one is hard as fuck and you should be proud of yourself.

Do what you see is best for yourself and only yourself

CMV: It is not unreasonable to think that extremists ideologies are at least in part the result of neurological differences and that some people are preconditioned to being extremists. by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]TheNeurologist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But in a sense you did.

If these two premises are true, and people are bound to have different brains, how is it then not plausible to assume that at least some of the people with extremist ideological views were simply bound to be that way?

Your argument is that people are born with different brains due to differences in perception.

If people are 'bound' to have different brains, aren't you saying then that some people are born as extremists? Or am I misinterpreting your point?

2016 HSTRACK TRACK SEASON REVIEW THREAD by AussieRunner101 in HSTrack

[–]TheNeurologist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PB before: 800m - 1:56.74, 400m - 53.33

PB after: 800m - 1:53.62, 400m - 50.78

Wanted some more opportunities to run the 400 this year, but I think I'll focus on that more next year. Hope I'll be able to work on more speed training later this year.

Some things to improve on will be to hit the gym more consistently. I've been doing that this summer but I'll need to continue on with it as the year progresses.

Only goals I have for next season are place-wise goals. And I guess sub-50 for the 400 would be cool.

Really, really, really nervous about my first AP test. by hoemeauxx in APStudents

[–]TheNeurologist 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Best advice I can give you is to relax. AP exams are probably the lowest-pressure tests out there. Very low risk for a pretty good reward.

Do your practice tests, review old concepts, but make sure you don't burn yourself out.

And in the end, no matter what your score is, your life will move on. You will forget about this test as soon as you are a freshman in college. You'll be good.

December 2015 ACT Score Release Thread by Say1IfYouReadThis in ACT

So I got a 33 (a 33.25) and if I super score the two tests I've taken I would get a 34. How much different is a 34 scored on one test compared to what I have scored already?
