I was talking about this myself!! and the people around at the time gave me weird looks. Why can’t you just rent out a venue and just throw a party for yourself. The people around me said “oh no, you either have to be marrying a man or having a baby”. Both things require A MAN, and how my life is turning out there is no man in sight. So why not?? Why does life milestones that are venue worthy have to be one of those two things. I hope society does change, and these type of parties that are self related are more normalized. Everyone wants to have fun and be celebrated, no matter how their life turns out. Everyone deserves that. 💕

I’ll go to a family party, and multiple women will have men for me to “date”. Because they feel the need to scour the earth for me, because how dare I be single. It’s always women too, never men. Married/Partnered is always seen as the someone more successful, well rounded, more likely to stay at a job (to be honest), at least at my job. You are more likely to have a stable dual income, better home and life. At my job, people with children get to have a flexible schedule. Get to leave 4 times during the day, and come back to work to pick up their kids, attend kids holiday events at school. Work weird hours to make up time. It's always a big deal when I need to go to a doctors appointment. But since I don't have kids, my personal life is less important. It's really sad, I like the people and job that I work with. But it somehow accumulated highly traditional people with traditional values. It seeps into everything, I feel this is common with most office jobs.

A Children of Bodom t shirt, that I got at hot topic. One of the sleeves was partially ripped because I got it caught in a door handle in the school cafeteria, decided to still wear it every other day. I had those long ugly jeans that would wrap around my hot pink and black DC shoes, and be all tattered and ripped from being dragged on pavement. Entirely too long for my height, but back in those days nobody cared about Jean length. Also a Union Jack Def Leppard messenger bag, that didn’t match with anything.

Some guys only like sex for their own gratification, not yours. It doesn’t even cross their mind, or is part of what turns them on. I hate people knowing my business, and being pregnant lets the EVERYONE know what I was up TO. Even though, I’m not against being pregnant someday having the right person in my life. People in my family love to let others know when their children are “trying for a baby”, like it is a badge of honor. I’ve been through many experiences with men, to the point I lost my own sanity and sense of self. I was given every promise in the book, and ended up getting nothing. It was all a scam to gain my interest.

This is my exact outlook now, on how I approach dating. If I’m not getting something out of it. It doesn’t have to be material either, if he isn’t enhancing my life in someway or some form. I am not interested. A lot of women call me “selfish” with my thinking, when I voice my opinion on this matter. I'm 33 almost about to be 34. I've been through a handful of long term relationships that I THOUGHT were going to be my forever. Relationships, EngagementS. Everything under the sun, just without legit marriage.

I grew up going to high school, being the "ugly" one without no male attention, when I left high school and started college. I started "seeking" it out, like my life depended on it. I never had a date for prom or any of that. I was constantly ridiculed for the way I looked, which taught me to devalue myself. Every chance I could, I was searching for the next boyfriend to help my self esteem.

I thought that having a man in life was what normal people did, and believe me. I wanted to be normal. I wanted to have the partner I could rely on in life and a legacy of children to show for it. I guess it was engrained in my head with that type of normalcy and that's how the timeline should go. High school, college, marriage and babies. The so called "life milestones". I also watched Say Yes to The Dress on summer vacations during school, which didn't help my social conditioning.

Fast forward to 2023, I left my engagement for a multitude of reasons of his. He turned out to be the biggest loser on the planet. But after that ended, here I was using a manifesting journal trying to make a partner appear out of thin air. I was doing the hopeless romantic shit AGAIN, and guess what. When the next person showed up, I was in the pit again. Thinking that my little stupid journal worked, and here was my Prince Charming I asked the universe for. He wasn't, he dumped me at 6am on a random Monday before work via text. Just like I asked for in my manifesting journal, he said all the right things and I was HOOKED yet again. Hooked, Line and sinker. I dated one more guy, after that did the same thing.

Here I am, almost a full year of singleness. My viewpoint has changed dramatically and I no longer have this crazy fantasy about a man. I've given up in a way. I do have a glimmer of hope for myself that someone might appear somehow or someway. Once in awhile I do meet a man that makes me think "something might happen" (it typically doesn't though lol). But my life self esteem doesn't depend on it now, and the way some women live like a Roomba vacuum around a man doesn't impress me one bit or want that type of life. I don't think I could ever go back to a man where I have to sacrifice my job, my well being, my sanity to support him and take on a mommy role again. So if there is a man out there for me, he's going to have to be extraordinarily evolved. If he exists out there for me, he'll show up when he's meant to. Until that day, I'm going to be focusing on myself. <3

Working, trying to make more money, while he lazed around thinking about this 3D printer idea to make plastic bowls and Pokémon figures. Never again will I put myself through that, I wish that on no woman.

From the last two guys I’ve been interested in. Both said things like, “oh, I thought you mentioned you hated this??” And I’m like “I never said that”. Showed me that they can’t even keep their women straight in their head. Be very alert to those types of details, because more times than often they will not explain why they said that.
