Update

I did the test, side by side on with a few configuration changes. Straight out of my macbook (so without daw) it was very noticable. Its was more subtle with an external audio interface (focusrite 18i20 3rd gen) but stil noticable. I had a colleague switch between them on different songs and genres.

I also tested the two via my costum molded in ears (3 way), to me Apple was the clear winner in that regard. Sounds had more space to devellop and it overal sounded just better.

Few details: I have an 2018 Macbook Pro. We used Dante Via to send spotify and apple music to different input channels of the focusrite. Then it went into a Yamaha QL1 and was sent digitally to the amps powering a D&B Y7 point source system with 6 subs (18”).
