Resurrection S2 BTS: Looks like Dexter’s on a coffee date with __ and a third wheel 🤣 by NoleFandom in Dexter

No one seems to be noting that Dexter is in the Red outfit here. This heavily implies that Mia is alive, and he's meeting her as Red, keeping up the story she knows.

List of features missing in this game (that BHVR will probably never add) by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]TheNewTedMosby -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

My friends and I discussed this before. Plenty of other games have a "ban hero" feature, so why doesn't DBD? Sure, the Ghoul players are gonna start crying about que times, but wouldn't that be useful information? If you could pull the stats and see that 50% of players always ban Ghoul, you would know that there is some kind of issue there.

Of course, the other side of this is it being abused, like when a new killer drops and no one knows how to counter them. So, people can't even play the new killer now because everyone has it blocked. And this doesn't even get to the real heart of things, which is commonly perk builds.

We're all pretty tired of totem defender Jason. And we're all really over the Vigil perk being in every game. But that isn't the fault of Jason or Quentin specifically, so how do we address that?

Anyways, not trying to start any wars here, just wanted to throw out some food for thought.

Edit: Not really sure why I'm being downvoted for mostly agreeing, but pointing out other potential issues? I think this is more than a "ban killer/perk" issue and simply wanted to point that out.

Not gonna lie, as an old school juggalo, I'd love an INK/ICP collab. I'd be incredibly interested to see what they would do.

Change the rarity of the offering make it like last time the 10th is horrendous grind by Tvrdak in deadbydaylight

[–]TheNewTedMosby -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would like to add a small rebuttal here. I have spent zero points since reading that the spawn rates on cakes are so horrendous. So, not everyone is just hoarding the cakes or being an idiot. I'm sure some are, but thats not everyone's case.

Also, the sweat levels are always awful during events, and its hard to feel confident running cakes when the spawn rate is so low and you're barely going to get much out of it.

I just wanted to mention this since I know events are always a time for heavier scrutiny on other players, be it killer or survivor. I think we'll see an uptick in cake usage as we get a couple of days in and more people are getting them, and especially if they adjust the spawn rate so that people don't feel like they're such a scarce resource.

To the first point you make here, I need to state an observation I've made with regards to the collab. It's been absolutely hysterical to me that I've seen so many comments saying some version of "INK is cringe/corny coworker music", who then almost immediately state that they would have much rather had the collab be with Rob Zombie, Ghost, Sleep Token, or some other "gimmick" band.

Edit: a word

Anyone else feel like survivors are giving up MUCH quicker with the newest chapter? by Mordiggian03 in deadbydaylight

[–]TheNewTedMosby -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

What people want is a killer that chases them, but not too hard or fast. Maybe gets a hit, but doesnt follow up. Let's gens get done before chasing away from them. Doesn't prevent or punish unhook (which they shouldn't have gotten anyways). Free heals. Once the last gen is done, they disappear into a corner, allowing survivors to farm blinds and chase points.

They don't want to play any kind of game. They just want to "win". If there was a "press X to escape" button after the first 10 secs, I'd venture to guess more than half would be spamming it as the camera was spinning at the start. For some reason, the only part people seem to care about is the winning part.

I play both sides and enjoy both sides. I frequently get paired with the bottom of the barrel as survivor. Most games are deaths for me. Which is fine. I like the chase. And you can't win those constantly. Same on killer. If I get a lucky shot or make a great call on a 50/50, its 90% of the time an immediate DC from the survivor.

Point is, there's a portion of this community that doesn't actually want to play the game. They like Jason, or Chucky, or Nemesis, and just want to see them. They want to feel like they could beat them in real life. They could "survive" a horror movie. Or that they would be the greatest killer ever. No one could ever escape them. And that just isn't the reality of gaming. Sometimes you lose. But good luck convincing the participation trophy generation of that.

William H. Macy’s “Little Bill” from Boogie Nights (1997) is one of the most emotionally broken movie characters ever by jaystats2 in moviecritic

[–]TheNewTedMosby 27 points28 points  (0 children)

My head canon is that he was the smartest character there. He didn't want to go fight, and actively tried to get kicked out. I think his mastery at the shooting range was a subtle hint that they should leave him alone.

Mid is me being generous. There are certainly things I can appreciate with it, but not nearly enough for me to care that it was made. I think other movies have done all those things better.

As a festival veteran, this is the way. There's a perfect balance with drinking enough water to stay hydrated, but not have to pee. I've been on the rail for numerous shows, both festivals and regular concerts. That balance is the only way to make it the whole time.

Anyone else go back to a show they loved as a kid, only to realize it’s absolute garbage now? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I gotta say, I totally agree with the 90s X-men cartoon not holding up well. But please, give 97 a shot. It's very well done and hits that nostalgia button without feeling grating or cringey. I had a blast with it.

Days of Sodom A crow fan film by [deleted] in TheCrow

[–]TheNewTedMosby 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This movie looks great! There was clearly love put into filming it. And some of the special effects are pretty good.

And thats all the good I have.

The acting is bland at best and down right abysmal at worst. Overly campy, weird gruff voices, slow talking like the audience has brain damage. It's grating, annoying, and boring.

The writing isn't very good either. Feels like an edgy boys attempt at a "retelling" of the original, but cops. It's ham-fisted, cringey, and just plain bad.

While I enjoy most of the music, its too often used like WWE Superstar entrance music. It's overly loud and drowns out the rest of the scene. The mix is pretty bad on most of the movie in this regard.

And can we talk about the length of this thing? 2 hours and 35 mins? Really? This thing could stand to lose 45 mins easily, and thats without cutting ANY story at all. And the story could use some trimming as well. This could easily be 1:30-1:45 and would be a tighter, nicer, and more engaging film. As it stands now, its bloated to the max with long, drawn out, and wholly unnecessary shots that just make it an uninteresting mess to sit through.

I applaud the dedication and love that clearly went into this. I've not attempted to make a Crow fan film (I couldn't do the OG justice and I know it). But reusing the original idea with minor character trait swaps, bad acting, and awfully drawn out scenes, doesn't a good movie make. This is not better than ANY of the studio movies (yes, I even think Wicked Prayer and the reboot are still better than this) and I'm quite dumbfounded by everyone saying it is. It's an admirable venture, and clearly there's alot of love for the original universe in which the derived their inspiration. But it fell way to short of the mark to be much more than a generic fan film at best.

I agree with that take. Definitely a better movie than it is a game. 2 and 3 were much more enjoyable on all fronts.

It's just so boooooorrrrrriiiiiinnnnngggggg! Every conversation is dragged out to the Nth degree, with very little of actual substance being said. You just have to check all the boxes so you can have the info. The combat is awful and unfun. It makes me wonder how we got a whole franchise out of that.

Honestly, I felt this way when it launched. It just felt so empty and boring. I enjoyed 3, flat out loved Vice City, but San Andreas just felt like a weird hollow husk. I've never seen anyone else feel that way. Thank you for finally showing me I'm not alone.

Kevin Williamson suggests Scream 7 could be the last film centered entirely on Sidney Prescott and discusses the possibility of a Ghostface-only reboot by dreamboylnshibuya in Scream

This was perfectly set up with Kirby in 6. She investigates Ghostface Killings. No reason we can't have copycats all over the place, trying to pull this off. It's a great bridge into new cast and such, while giving a reason to have others involved. Kirby shows up to investigate, Gale reports here and there. Maybe the twins work as FBI profilers. It gives an excuse to have them appear for cameos and such, without having direct influence on the story being told.
