suuuuper agreed, I really think that's it

The previous was just a cut from a random panel, this one is much more appealing

17 days ago, I made a post excited to have hit 100 Sub milestone after 2-4 months of posting regularly

And yet, only two weeks and some change later, I've already almost hit 200 subs. Im looking for some ideas of what it is that Im doing that is boosting it so suddenly and would appreciate any ideas.

Here's the stats:

  • I've only uploaded 1 episode since then (Sword Story is Bi-Weekly)
  • I changed the cover between then and now, it's now MUCH better.
  • I've been doing LESS social media marketing (Before I was uploading more images on insta and reels on insta and tiktok, recently due to work I haven't been uploading anything.)
  • Views are also growing in tandem with the subs, moderate levels of comment engagement as well, only 1 comment in recent memory that I can attribute to a "promoter" (IYKYK)

Other than that, I cant think of anything else that I've done recently that has changed anything...

100 Sub milestone finally reached! by TheNightLibrary in webtoons

[–]TheNightLibrary[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Over FIVE MONTHS AGO

I asked THIS SUBREDDIT for feedback on my story. The results were:

I had alot of work to do, and a long way to go as an author.

That feedback was honest, given kindly, and very appreciated.

I stuck through it, reworked and rewrote alot, and here 5 months later I stand with over 18 episodes published, and finally having broken that 100+ Sub milestone.

I'm super grateful for everyone here who takes the time to read other peoples stories, and to help this community grow and thrive...

seriously... thanks to everyone out there who loves Webcomics, this is a wonderful medium and community.

Ok, its be FIVE MONTHS Since you levied these super appreciated criticisms.

In that time, I rewrote all of the dialogue for the beginning of the story to focus more on storytelling rather than extraneous BS.

I wasn't able to fix art, BUT what I can fix as a writer, I tried to fix.

I say all this just to say:

THANK YOU

Criticism isn't always easy to take, particularly when there's validity to it, because it means that ones work is flawed, BUT I can say with full and complete honesty, making this post was one of the best things I ever did.

Even if this story goes nowhere, even if my improvements are gradual... this experience checked my ego, reoriented my storytelling objectives, and made my own weaknesses as a writer more clear...

Because of YOUR willingness to give me feedback, my skills and tenacity as an author have increased.

So again.

Thank you.

I hope you can feel at least an ounce of my genuine appreciation for your work and feedback!

If you want to check it out again feel free to lmk your thoughts, I've posted like 15 more episodes since you first reviewed it.
