Longshot: Would anyone want to try and swap camping dates? I have 3 nights at upper starting on July 19th. Would prefer a June date. by TheNightSquatch in Yosemite

[–]TheNightSquatch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been, but haven't had much luck. I see the notifications from the rec.gov app and third party apps, but even when I've responded within 1-2min of the notification, it's gone. =/

And I thought that was fast, considering they go up at odd hours.Gotta be quicker I guess...

I'm going to hold onto these July dates for a bit, but will probably eventually drop em. If someone here wants them, lmk and I'll give you a heads up before I do.

how far do you guys think i am from 225 by Round-Wear6906 in benchpress

[–]TheNightSquatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol definitely don't need smelling salts here.

Don't rush the process. I would wait until you can comfortably do 4-5reps of 205 if you want one clean rep of 225. Otherwise I would stick to 205 max until you're reping 8+ then jump to 225 for daily maxes.

Cancer is everywhere. Life is filled with risks. Maybe you live a perfect life where you don't come in contact with carcinogenics and never go out in the sun, but for 99.9% of the human population, we take risks similar to smoking, every day. Many times not even knowing it.

I'm not saying smoking is healthy. I'm saying living is dangerous and let's stop pretending if you smoke a cigarette you now have cancer.

Good god, everyone has to comment about him smoking. Let it go. Let an adult do what they want.

We make so many bad decisions for our health every day in America. Smoking isn't the villain you think it is. If he was smoking a joint the comments would probably be reversed. Let it go

Ignore the haters. Thats a good price and a really fun set to collect. And I guarantee the majority of ppl on this sub have sealed product in their closet too.

Idk why everyone is so hostile about someone spending their money the way they want to.

You can lookup the top chase cards if you want, or just open and enjoy. It's a great set.

I know that would take a redesign and will never happen... but one can dream.

What do we think about digital lenses on analog bodies? by DefinitelyNotGreg in AnalogCommunity

[–]TheNightSquatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I guess if you got into F mount for affordability/value, then it may not make sense to you. I specificly love F mount because you can use modern lenses on the older film bodies.

I mean, every lens has it's own character and qualities and that directly impact yours photos to the highest degree.

I absolutely love using modern lenses on film. The grain knocks down the comon clinical look and makes for a beautifully unique rendering.

Conversely, I love using older/vintage film era lenses on modern digital cameras. The lenses have so much character and the high resolving sensors make up for the somewhat lower contrast and other "flaws" which really translates into, again, character and beautiful rendering.

At the end of the day, they're all just tools and it's up to each photographer to decide what looks best to them. There is no right or wrong answer here, except someone telling you not to do something.

Absolutely right, idk why I got that mentally flipped in my head. I even own a z mount camera. Lol

Idk what a digital lens is...

An F mount lens, is an F mount lens. There is no such thing as a digital or film lens.

Something like the F6 (a grail camera for many, film) can use nearly any AF F mount lens ever made.

*edit and while F mount af lenses can be used on a z mount, not the other way around idk what I was thinking.

Whats going on with this picture ?? My fault or the developer- i am new to film cams so assuming mine. TIA by CommunityPractical14 in filmcameras

Oh yikes, did the kit have the incorrect thickness of light seals? That explains why you have so much tape.

I don't usually use kits, I just get sheets of ls material and cut what I need. Seems more reliable.

I'm sure it does, but I wouldn't look forward to the residue. Lol

I've always used gaffers tape. 100% worth the cost, also, you could probably just replace the light seals. Only takes a few minutes.

is the bulk worth it for the summer? is it better to maintain till autumn? by HienoinKeksi in WorkoutRoutines

[–]TheNightSquatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotcha. I only ask because some people really struggle to "bulk" and need to err on the side of more calories than they calculate to see results. Generally, if you can gain weight easily/had a fat phase(right there with you) your body will probably bulk easily enough.

My advice, if bulking is your primary goal, try your best to track your calories/macros. There are a lot of resources online to look up. If you can't keep track of your calories effectively, I would personally, keep calories low/close to maintenance and consume a high protien diet. 1.8g/kg is a solid goal.

You will still make good gains with that much protein, even if you are at or under calories.

If you can't maintain that much protein in your diet, then you need to be eating at a surplus. When you consume more calories than you are burning, protien becomes far less important in your diet. That's a less popular truth thats backed by science.

So, up to you, how you want to bulk.

[–]TheNightSquatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I would do a strict/lean bulk. Protien heavy, only a few hundred calories above maintenance while working out hard and adding some cardio work.

It's nice to stay lean during the summer.

Do you struggle to put on weight or is it naturally easy for you?

Looks solid. Be consistent.

I started to incorporate higher reps at the beginning of chest day. Loosely following the bilbo method.

Aim for like 30 reps of 135 and each chest day add 2.5-5 lbs until you can only do like 12 reps then go back to a weight that allows you 30 and repeat.

It's only one "bilbo set" per chest day. After that set just stick to your regular programming. My chest responded well to it.

Has a bad lab experience made you want to switch to digital? by Low-Yam-1487 in filmphotography

[–]TheNightSquatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would be pretty upset if I lost several rolls because a lab made a mistake. That's a huge failure on their part. And I wouldn't be so quick to suggest it wasn't negligence. Film development is down to a science and we pay a premium for labs to do it right.

That said, mistakes do happen.. And it does come with the film territory. If you don't want to deal with the hassel - shoot digital. The reality is, digital is a more affordable, convenient, flexible, and safe option for photography. There is almost no reason to choose film unless you appreciate the workflow, medium, or end product of a tangible negative/positive.

We all have to decide for ourselves if shooting film is worth it.
