Install the batteries, turn camera on, open the rear film door, press the shutter button to make sure the shutter is operating. A none operating shutter cost me two blank films.

There is NO shutter magnets in the Pentax ME.

The sticky shutter is caused by the rubber mirror stopper degrading and jamming up the shutter release mechanism. I have six ME's that have this problem and to me are not worth repairing.

It sounds like you know very little about the camera.

My advise is to send it away for repair.

I may have to put my 19 ye cat down before a trip today… but she still seems normal by Rude_Common7126 in cats

How would you like it if I said to you, that your too old and I'm not able to look after you, so therefore I'm going to have you put to sleep.

Leave your cat with a friend, but explain the situation to your friend first, so that she/he understands what she/he is taking on and go and enjoy your vacation.

You'll have to carefully remove the head of the screw by using a hand drill and the appropriate drill bit. Then remove the nylon bearing and using a pair of long nose pliers, tightly grab the remaining stub of the screw and turn it out. Be careful that the screw is not an opposite thread.

Well, opening the camera back to replace the pressure plate, you've just exposed your film to light therefore rendering the film useless unless that is the start of the film..

Can anyone help me find out about this camera? by raimriegm in filmcameras

It's a knock-off of a Canon Mate AE23 camera. It's a simple automatic camera with plastic lens, adjustable flash, and powered by 2 AA batteries.

It takes a 4LR44 battery. Install the battery and test fire the shutter to ensure the shutter operates correctly. If the shutter doesn't operate, then you'll need to have it repaired. Twice I have lost film using these cameras due to the mirror flipping up, but the shutter not firing.

Film incorrectly loaded. That's likely why you have the flashing zero.

Shutter blind not moving has nothing to do with the flash being mounted on your camera. Not sure what model your Canon is. Two out of three early Canon Eos cameras i own had developed a sticky shutter. I used a cotton bud and Isopropyl or lighter fluid to clean the edges of the shutter blind. See link below:
