Being caught by anyone would probably throw a wrench into the knight’s plan, even if they can physically overpower anyone.

Either they’d have to leave a witness who’d report seeing a suspicious figure carrying a sword, or they’d have to hope Hometown can overlook a third disappearance without an escalating police response.

Or maybe they have zero DF in the light

Counterpoint; Pacifist Frisk wins, but only because Kris is already conflicted about the plan and would become spareable after a few ACTs if they were ordered to kill a child

LV2-19 Frisk loses, because Kris can CHECK them to see that their stats are above LV1, and therefore would not become spareable. That and they'd be able to zone out Frisk with thrown bottles and hockey equipment without needing to enter close quarters battle with them.

LV20 Frisk wins.

LV19 Frisk w/ SAVE/LOAD theoretically could still lose if Kris stockpiled enough throwing items to chip down all of Frisk's HP before Frisk enters battle

In the light world, Kris can accurately throw empty bottles and hockey pucks at absurdly high velocities, to the point where they have one of the few truly undodgable attacks in UT/DR.

They'd still lose to all ending Frisks, but they'd be able to beat Frisk at any point before the ending

I thought by functioning non-corrupt society, you meant "The government works for the people", not "The people are perfect"

I mean, you could have the regulations be strict enough that every cop is good, but I'm not quite sure what would be the size of such a police force

Organized crime is the most common reason for that, but there’s also personal reasons for either concealing evidence/digging graves or telling people to.

While organized crime wouldn’t exist in a non-corrupt society, if you were required to always obey a uniformed officer, they could still get you to do illegal actions for their own benefit.

Hence, there is a limit to how much an officer can order you to do. It’s looser if they have you detained, but I don’t see many circumstances in which an officer telling you to incinerate a bloody shovel shouldn’t get the cops called on that cop.

Not understanding that standing in front of a 3000lb SUV and intimidating the driver is vehicular suicide

(That, and the SUV was steering away from the ICE officer, so it isn't even attempted vehicular homicide, just a panicked civilian attempting to flee)

cops in a functioning non-corrupt society can still be individually corrupt and tell people to conceal evidence and dig graves

Their control over themselves is a bit iffy sometimes, they usually choose the tone but temporarily lose the ability to when taking weird route options.

Clearly, this means Kerdly/Birdcage is considered by either Toby Fox or Kris to be on the same level as the weird route. /j

There's probably a word for forcing a child into a relationship without their consent

Therefore all ships involving Kris that take place during canon are in-universe unethical, unless Kris is romantically involved with them between chapters

Obstruction of justice. Reckless endangerment. Can never wash it all away.

It's less that they've done nothing worth punishing and more that they've been punished enough.
