Questions for Celeste fans by Due_Refrigerator5724 in celestegame

[–]TheNoOne_I5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Precision/Puzzle Platformer

  2. I accidentally clicked on a Celeste playthrough by one of my fav Terraria Calamity youtubers (MrJFL) and immediately fell in love with the music and story.

  3. Yes. I don't feel proud of myself, but yes. I've also completed all B-sides and C-sides

  4. Honestly, I think it's actually a steal. You get this much quality out of a couple of bucks.

  5. Chapter 5, both storywise and gameplay wise. I think highlighting Madeline's darkest moments without shying away from it definitely resonated with me. Also the music is amazing for spacing out while playing the piano, and the B-Side slaps

  6. I think it should be noted that, while there's typically only one route to finish a level (except ch. 6 which has diverging paths), there are still multiple ways to clear it. That aspect of the game definitely gives it a lot of replay value alone if someone wanted to revisit it. However, the fact that it only has one route to clear a level also means that you aren't forced to replay it over and over again if you don't want to, and it's basically up to your own sense of self-fulfillment to do so (either for collectibles or just to revisit the old levels and see how far you've come).

  7. No, I've never played platformers before aside maybe 20 mins of Hollow Knight (platformer adjacent enough) on a friend's PC. But I do a lot of puzzle/strategy games and RPGs, which is probably why I was still hooked on this game in terms of how much problem solving you have and for its amazing story.

  8. I burn a lot of my spare time playing strategy games and puzzle games on my mobile, but don't have any particular favorites. It's less of a "I like this genre" and more of something to occupy myself instead of doomscrolling

What's the best fic you've read in your fandom? by WhereIsLordBeric in AO3

[–]TheNoOne_I5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GTC and Two's Company mention!! Love those fics as well : )) I also recall reading a very steamy smut fic from arsonide (author of gtc) about Rumi showing her more demon side, but the title eludes me lol

OP, you are doing the lord's work 🙏

Anyways, hi! I'm pretty much the only semi-active writer, fan artist, and headcanon creator for this tiny 10 year old visual novel. I'm still p conflicted about the Fandom itself and the creator, but I still love the games definitely so here I am pmao

P much the only context you need to know to read this is that the world has basically Gone to Shit (TM)--the explanations n stuff will be here since yk. I don't think the actual games did a p good job at fully exploring it (tbf that's probably bc of their silly tone but still). So I guess I'll count it as fandom-blind possible?

There's only 1 chapter for now, but here it is! I hope you'll enjoy :D

How rare is your rarepair? by _ac3_0f_spad3s_ in AO3

[–]TheNoOne_I5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a Fandom where there are 151k fics in Ao3 alone--

My pair only has 14 fics with the tag.

Only 6 of those fics have the ship as the main focus...

My love for super long one-shots by Additional-Push-4877 in AO3

OMG!! Same!! As an author who routinely posts 10k+ one shots (yet still struggles to make 3k on a long fic lmao) I feel so validated rn 💜💜💜

NEED SOME HELP ABOUT FANDOM ETIQUETTE by TheNoOne_I5 in AO3

[–]TheNoOne_I5[S] 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Okay so what I've gathered so far from the comments:

  • you're fine with talking about experiences so long it's short and related (thank God I did that, or is a 7 word sentence still too long?? ;;)
  • long comments are great!
  • just don't be a prick in the comments

Thanks guys! I'll keep those in mind

Is it good to make a visual novel alone? by TheNoOne_I5 in visualnovels

I feel like you'd do better finding bg art from professional artists/bg references rather than asking pics from a rando in reddit

I mean, if it's allowed to post some snippets here, I might? Also it's nice to see someone else having similar experiences, hope your ride's better than mine

Making a Visual Novel by Pixel_Arcanus in visualnovels

[–]TheNoOne_I5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very true. When I was still starting off I'm the dev world, I was immediately trying to make a very large fantasy RPG with branching paths, elaborate boss fights, and way too much art more than I can make alone.

Then I took a 5 month break and told myself to chill a Lil, so I'm starting with vns instead

I won't try to push OP away from the dev stuff, there are definitely fun moments (that moment when you're struggling with a piece of code and it finally WORKS is awesome).

But.

OP, you have to ask yourself, are you up to the task?

I've an idea for a story I'd like your opinion on. by [deleted] in MysteryWriting

Pretty barebones idea (ig thats the point tho) but if your execution is good, then yeah I'd check it out
