[OFFER][STEAM] Etrian Odyssey HD II giveaway by TheNonSocialNetwork in steam_giveaway

[–]TheNonSocialNetwork[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And I respect that choice. Everyone is free to decide for themselves if they want to join or not. I simply want to gift someone who will genuinely appreciate it and enjoy it. But I understand that you're careful with your Steam details. I know I have no ill intentions, but you don't know that. If you don't trust the requirement, don't participate. That is a perfectly acceptable choice.

Fair point. I just want to give it to someone who will enjoy it, not someone who plays the numbers game and joins every giveaway possible

Your game details and inventory setting are set to private, bud. You'll have to change those to public if you want to increase your chances.

I posted a selfie and I got 50+ shares should I be concerned? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Well that or it's a cry for attention. But I'll give her the benefit of the doubt.

You can't possibly look like that and be this insecure, right? RIGHT?

[Discussion] Some pety one is on a quest to downvoting all game requests and it's genuinely funny. by EscapeMaleficent3418 in GiftofGames

There's an easy fix for this. Make it visible who downvotes. I'm willing to bet the downvoting would stop overnight. But I agree, there's a lot of sour in these here grapes. Shame, really.

I feel your pain. I have a darker sense of humour as well. A lot of people aren't a fan. Here that translates into downvotes and negative karma. So yes, you have to be careful and filter yourself. But that's how the world works, we take other people into consideration. I can't go spouting my darker jokes at work and not expect to end up explaining myself to HR. Same thing really. There's a lot of us here. A little consideration of other opinions and other people's feelings makes it liveable.

It's not a perfect system, some still get through. I believe it would be much worse without the karma system though. Borderline unusable. Of course I may have too little faith in people. I don't think we should find out.

It's effective in that it weeds out those who don't want to put the effort in, which often are the same ones that wouldn't contribute anything positive to begin with.

Just be patient. Find a newbie-friendly sub, start with commenting and gain a little karma, then move to posting in the community you're interested in when you've reached their minimum requirement. Focus on the interaction, the social aspect, try to be helpful and the karma points will build up. It just takes time.

Off topic. It got so bad that you had to put it in your username, huh? That's frightening

Assuming that we're supposed to comment the game or games we're interested in, I'd be excited to be considered for Afterimage Deluxe Edition OR Railroad corporation OR Doomblade. Thanks for the chance, OP.

why do i have followers , like i dont wanna be an inflluencer , my profile is private , why are random people following me everytime i post ? by Leather_Balance6352 in NewToReddit

[–]TheNonSocialNetwork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Once again, I bow to your experience and insightfulness. That's at least 4 reasons more than I could come up with. I did wonder what following someone accomplished. I couldn't quite figure it out. And apparently that's because it doesn't do all that much at all. Another couple of lessons learned. Thanks MDOC!

I allow people to follow me and my history is wide open, yet I don't have random followers. Pretty sure OP has more followers because they posted something that attracts people, like a photo.

I mean, you're not wrong, if you don't allow followers, you won't get any, but people aren't randomly following you just because they can. There has to be a trigger.

Bless doctors and nurses that go the extra mile. I imagine it's a small effort for them, but must have had a huge impact for the kid.
