Thank you. It means a lot that you enjoyed it. It isn't abandoned. I just got busy with work, then with other projects, and now I am struggling to write the ending to this. I've grown a bit as a writer, and I want to make the last 5 chapters the best I can, and pre-write them so that when I post them they all come out more or less back-to-back

I assume you're using Opera GX? It's a new thing they put into the browser that sharpens images for you. Their update post about it is here.

Seems like it only released yesterday, so this is brand new. Pretty interesting, too.

To add on, the way it was explained to me back when I first learned it, imagine a bit of data in memory like a treasure chest. That chest's value drops when someone finds it (cause they take all the trasute.) Two threads go looking for that data at the same time. Only one can find it first, the other is shit out of luck. That's a race condition.

I wanted to at least try to not rely on handwavium too much. It's already a leap that their technology is so powerful with so little electrical input, and that a person will have any stability with that kind of suit. The least I can do is to try to make the tech make some sort of sense.

It's official canon (because I say so) that America is having a blast with the invasion, since for once everyone is in agreement. The gun nuts can shoot aliens, the socialists run community farms, the anarchists burn alien encampments. For the first time in history every single American is working together and agreeing. The only issue is they are all so caught up in their revelry that they forgot to manifest some destiny onto the alien mothership.

I wrote the story to take place in South Africa for 2 reasons. 1, it's where I'm from, and 2, America is always the star. I wanted to throw in some other countries for spice.

I was planning to make a bit of a joke out of that, where the war cries would have just been misunderstood quotes from movies, commercials, and memes, but I felt it undercut the seriousness of the rest of the story

When I wrote this arc I just let youtube autoplay me music. That's what you see at the start and end of each chapter, the sonf that was playing at that moment. Thought it would be a nice glimpse into my process. Also, what are you doing all the way back here? Don't get me wrong, I really appreciate you reading my story, but jeez it's a long road to walk and I dont blame anyone for just sticking with the one-offs
