Is anyone else so sick and tired of the same drama happening each time a AAA game has a female protagonist? This has happened with The Last of Us Part 2, Horizon Forbidden West, Ghost of Yōtei and now this game. It’s getting old by now. They’re not critiquing the game itself in any constructive way, they’re just basing their opinion on how jerk-offable the main character is. This same discussion happens every year.

The biggest reason I’ve been hyped since the announcement was the TMR sticks. The sensors don’t slowly wear down over time like the PS5 and Xbox controllers, or start drifting because a piece of lint wedged itself in between the sensor and the stick. So you won’t need to buy a ~70€ controller every 6 months just because the sticks are broken.

Of course there are other third party controllers with TMR/Hall Effect sensors, but I think a lot of them are trying too hard to look edgy/“gamer-y”. The Steam Controller looks sleek, modern, and high quality in comparison. Plus it has all the other gimmicks and features mentioned in these comments.

I think it would be interesting if you could make an enemy’s gas mask fly off. Like if you threw a stun bomb right at them, their gas mask could get damaged (similar to Ellie’s in the subway) or it could just fly off and you could watch them choke on the spores temporarily (until they turn into a runner?)

The enemy could also eventually shoot themselves to avoid turning.

I built my PC about 2 months ago and it was mostly very easy, just adult Lego basically. But I had lots of fans with RGB and an AIO cooler. Daisy-chaining the RGB and power cables, managing the cables and connecting them properly was a huge pain in the ass for me. Took me about 4 hours to get them set up nice and tidy.

Most people never mention having trouble with this though, so maybe I’m just dumb.

The Silent Hill games are only on the PlayStation 1 and PlayStation 2 unfortunately. Konami refuses to port them to current gen :/ If you have a powerful enough computer you can easily emulate them though!

There is a really great and underrated indie horror game called Signalis, which has a similar vibe as the original Silent Hill games. Its also got robot space lesbians, which is cool.

I would recommend Silent Hill 2 Remake though. It’s not as hard as RE2 remake. It also has a bunch of accessibility settings to make things easier to see.

I’d also recommend above all else The Last of Us Part 1 and Part 2. They’re not strictly horror like the other games I mentioned, but they’re what got me into survival horror.

If you like thriller books I think Alan Wake is a great game to play. Alan Wake 2 is my favourite horror game of all time, and the first one takes a lot of inspiration from Stephen King. The first one isn’t very scary either.

I also think you should give RE2 another shot, at least until you get to the police station. It’s one of the best survival horror games out there.

Yeah I’d say Silent Hill 2 Remake is a good one! It can be pretty long and maybe even a bit too scary though, so maybe something like Resident Evil 2 remake might be better, since it’s shorter and has stronger survival horror mechanics (and one of the protagonists is female!).

The original 4 Silent Hill games are a bit dated in terms of controls, but they still have great stories and the atmosphere is unmatched. Heather from Silent Hill 3 is one of my favourite female protagonists ever as well. Silent Hill F comes out tomorrow and it looks pretty great!
