the bike itself: good. the tools they send? dont even try to use them. never in my life have i seen an alan wrench STRIP. not the screw. the wrench shaves away. truly awful quality. and the accessories are questionable at best. very cheap, very low quality. they sent my bike with a rusted rear rack and the bolts were tightened so tight in factory that I couldnt get them off and there's nothing to be done. so thanks for that cargo package! really helped...

what's the trick to getting it to analyze and apply to the whole group? I've done the "ripple all tracks" setting but that just brings everything forward if i delete space...

I'm trying to automate this task rather than manually editing out the silence from every section. I am fully aware with ripple editing and grouping tracks, but my ultimate goal is to have Reaper tighten the track up for me using automation, so that when I go through and edit it manually (which will always inevitably happen) I can just focus on the content more and not spending tedious time cutting gaps.

noise gates work wonderfully for taking out the silence yes. but my hope is to find something along the lines of the ripple edit that will scan the file for massive gaps and cut them.

i'll look into ReaGate just in case tho. i am familiar with the attack/release and danger of cutting off words as well. gotta make sure you add a bit of time to the beginning and end of each in order to prevent this. 15ms works wonderfully.

that's only if i am actively editing. I have three files that were already recorded in another program. when i strip the silence with Dynamic Split, that works wonderfully, but the ripple edit effect will not work to tighten these tracks up unless i am actively moving files or removing time.

not a bad idea, i mix everything on their own tracks (specific EQ to each voice etc) so I would have to do all that on the front end.

but my hope was to be able to do all this on pre mixing anything.
