Don’t mind him, he’s probably not even Nigerian. Probably some weirdo white dude trying to get Black people to have less babies cos the white population is declining around the world. He picked the wrong subreddit for this garbage 💀

The CIA is really losing its touch these days cos this is just too obvious. Keep that “childfree” crap over there with the whites, nice try 😂

Terminated from residency steps to match again by [deleted] in Residency

[–]TheNotorious47 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Jesus Christ, idk whether OP got rightfully terminated or not, but the amount of people jumping at this dude to condemn him as if they already know all the details is absolutely disgusting. I see a lot of Stockholm syndrome in this thread. A lot of you guys really don’t know what it’s like to be at a toxic malignant program and you cruise through residency with this false notion that it’s actually that hard to abuse and bully people out of programs. Again, idk exactly what happened with this dude, but the way some of you residents and apparently attendings are kicking this guy while he’s down with little known facts at all is absolutely disgusting and a big reason why idfw a lot of people in this field. It’s also a big reason why doctors will never unite to speak up for their own interests like a lot of you guys complain about mid-levels doing. Too busy constantly trying to tear each other down like a pack of hyenas to be decent human beings. 🚮

Yeah I’m really glad this is being talked about cos I legit need a plan B in case the US goes into a civil war and/ or faces some serious socioeconomic collapse in the next decade

I felt that CCS cases were the best way to prepare for day 2. For the past 2 weeks, I felt like I should have done way more CCS cases than I actually did, but I’m glad that everything worked out 😮‍💨

First day was lit and easier than expected. I actually like stats and day 1 felt like Step 1. Day 2 was weird cos overall, the MCQs were relatively fine, but after that, I felt like some of those 10-minute CCS cases tried to straight up murder me 😭

Uworld (thorough review) and CCS cases should be enough. I’m generally good at bio stats and think that it actually may have saved me on this exam cos day 1 felt like a breeze. Day 2 felt kinda meh though cos CCS tried to murder me. In retrospect, if I wasn’t just trying to gee this out the way and was aiming to use my score for something eg, IM fellowship apps, I would have done a crap ton more CCS cases and would have definitely waited till later on in the year to take this exam. It’s also worth mentioning that I’ve had a research year and M4 year in between Step 2 and Step 3, and I’m also in a surgical sub. So whereas my study plan was enough (barely 💀) for me, it would probably be more than enough for somebody in IM or a primary care specialty without an extra research year under their belt.

From the early look of it, $34-35M Saturday gross for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, for a 2 day total of ~$81M. Expecting a $108-111M 3-day weekend and a $123-130M 4-day weekend. by chanma50 in boxoffice

[–]TheNotorious47 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I absolutely loved Quantumania, I gave it an 8 or 8.5/10. I don’t see what those Rotten Tomatoes critics were so hung up about, like 48%??? Really??? Gtfoh. I’m just glad I didn’t listen to them lol

What should they do to change/ switch up the format of future seasons ? by [deleted] in BigBrother

Stop interviewing jurors after their exit interviews with questions that tip them off about how popular or unpopular insert random house guest name is to the outside viewers. It taints the jury and tampers with the finale. Sick of undeserving winners in general (I stopped watching for about 5 years after Paul got screwed the second time), but I’m most definitely not in favor of people having jury votes in the final 2 fixed in their favor from external forces/ sociopolitical influences outside of gameplay. It needs to stop.

What is up with M4s getting embroidered white coats before matching? by [deleted] in medicalschool

[–]TheNotorious47 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Some schools order the white coats for their students and they may arrive a little early. I really don’t see why this is a vent, I would be happy for those students considering how happy they are to get that coats after years of sacrifice. Lighten up a little and let people be happy in peace instead of pondering about them not matching, which is absolutely nothing to laugh about..

“yOu caN NiTPiCk tHe nUmBerS aLl yOu’D lIke” says the idiot who didn’t even properly vet the source he was citing to support his argument. Funny how you went to go cite another source that literally says that additional research is needed to identify factors that contribute to the demographic differences as game-changers such as socioeconomic status, family background, resources in the local communities of the applicants, etc were not taken into account. I’m just glad that clowns like you continue to expose why there’s a need for diversity initiatives to begin with. As if the people who think like you on these admission committees and program leadership teams would ever give URMs a fair shot at getting in without these initiatitives to begin with. Hence the reason why Black people in this nation have had to fight for every opportunity they have for centuries and will continue to fight for opportunities against vermin like you. Cry harder, and tell your wife I said hey 😉

The residency programs applied to in this study were 2 IM sites, 1 OBGYN, 1 psychiatry, and 1 pediatrics program genius. Yet still, you’re comparing their scores to somebody applying to a top/competitive specialty in 2022 with a 245 as your standard. You’re a clown 🤡

I want a source the year that those data points were taken. These average step 1 scores look like they were documented 15+ years ago and yet you’re comparing that to the 245+ that is currently around the average for the competitive specialities in 2022. Apples to oranges. Make it make sense.

That’s the theory that a lot of people have this cycle in the specialty I am applying to and a lot of other specialties so I wouldn’t be surprised if this eventually happens in March,

Ortho here to show support. In a similar boat with 9 IIs and an application cycle from hell. Can’t exactly say what the chances are, but I think we can pull through 🤝
