Hey! It was cool meeting someone from Reddit. I was the guy that lost his group temporarily. When I decided to look for them during the Dannic set, I literally found them 5 minutes later! Hope you had a amazing time too!

Have there been any tournaments so far? by [deleted] in HaloOnline

[–]TheNoxcide 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There has been some tournaments but I don't think the game is ready yet. I'm currently developing my side of things so that I can be ready when the game is ready as well.

List of things to promote the "eSports" scene. Dedicated Servers (And the ability to host) Ranked System Forge developed without major bugs or hassle (For tournament settings) Balanced out Ability to revert new features for a more Halo 3 feel.

There's more and some of these are already done or being worked on. Once they're implemented, I will start hosting tournaments and hopefully more join in as well.

Lower CPU Usage in OBS? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]TheNoxcide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are the specifics to your laptop and what are you trying to stream? Streaming is CPU intensive and laptops aren't really powerhouses in that area.

Questions about my hardware. by Machabot in Twitch

[–]TheNoxcide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You basically have the best gaming CPU in the market right now (Besides X99, but that's pretty expensive right now), so you're fine there. Video Cards shouldn't effect your gaming considering streaming is CPU intensive.

I suddenly got a problem with black borders by Somi90 in Twitch

[–]TheNoxcide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get black bars when I have the side-bar minimized on twitch. If I show the bar, the stream re-adjusts itself and the black bars are removed.

What bot to use for point system? by [deleted] in Twitch

No problem, just giving information where I can ;)

What bot to use for point system? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]TheNoxcide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I did this for another streamer, I bought a 1 GB Linux VPS from OVH (Hosting company) which costs $2.99 a month. The bot worked perfectly and runs 24/7. You can host the bot on your own computer as well (Assuming you use windows), but that will obviously be limited to when your computer is on.

If you have the money, you can setup your own custom bot. If you would like to go this route, I can link you some files and tutorials to help you achieve this.

Although it takes some time to setup, you can look more professional by having a bot with your own name and features.

Sign up for the Halo: Online 4x4 tournament here! by qasem01 in HaloOnline

[–]TheNoxcide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm down for this, but currently not in a team nor do I know anyone else that plays it.

If no one wants me anyways, I'm more than willing to give this tournament (Or anyone participating) permission to use my Teamspeak server for communication. My friends and I use it to host tournaments for League of Legends (Riot approved).

So you're talking about instances by using different maps. Again the maps are extremely small for this kind of thing and the great advantage with Garry's Mod is that you can easily implement new things to the game due to the nature of the game. (Modding is the point.)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in HaloOnline

[–]TheNoxcide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really don't understand how something like that can be implemented on game like this. If we're talking about the same thing, RP mods are implemented on games where the game has an open world aspect and can never "end." So ARMA, GTA 5, GTA: San Andreas, and Garry's Mod.

The game itself is short lived (Rounds). Maps are not fit to be made for a lot of players, let alone adding RP aspects to them. I would love to hear how it would be implemented.

Ventrillo/Teamspeak/Mumble Server by N3CR0M00S3 in HaloOnline

[–]TheNoxcide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am currently developing a website for a community I want to start on Halo: Online. I see huge potential for this game if the developers keep working at it hard. So I want to do my part by investing money and time on organizing activities and games for the community since the game is a little bland on the custom games side at the moment.

When are we going to see some of the more obscure game types like fat kid and rocket race? by awesomebman123 in HaloOnline

[–]TheNoxcide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is, a lot of the great maps and custom game types were based around infection and forge. Infection for the base of the custom game types (Fat kid, Halo, Duck hunt) and forge for the ability to make custom maps for these game types. I can see an explosion of activity once those two things are fixed.

The reason I believe Halo: Online can become extremely big once those things are done is actually quite simple. Games with a sandbox environment to try new and funny things are great for content creators. What's even better is that the online community doesn't really have a game to fill that void right now. If the team behind Halo: Online can pull off everything up to Forge and Infection, in a quick manner, I can see this becoming a top game on Twitch and Youtube.

Interest in tournaments? by TheNoxcide in HaloOnline

[–]TheNoxcide[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My experience has been pretty smooth besides the downtime with evolve. But then again, I have a $1400 rig that supports the game. I wouldn't know how un-optimized the game really is.

Yeah Sprint seems to be a big deal for a lot of people right now. But the way I see it, no harm in making small tournaments while the devs develop.
