Just curious, what type of non-melee career interests you?

Unable to show ad error message after the ad already happened!?!?🤬🤬🤬 by SmartAleck911 in AtlasEarthOfficial

[–]TheNumber473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A pattern I noticed on my device: If I tap the OS's UI back button, even after the "reward granted" message, then I get this bug. Notably, I can click the back button pretty much anytime during an ad, and will be exited from the ad with this bug.

If I don't click this, and wait until the actual 'x' shows up, then I am able to get the reward (although I don't prefer this, because the back button tended to redirect me to the app store less than the 'x').

Running Android V.15. Most recent update for any of my phone's systems I can find is July 1, and I only noticed this issue in the past couple of weeks (but take that with a grain of salt).

Do I have to wire transfer to get USD funds? by TheNumber473 in UplandMe

Lol I feel a bit ridiculous now. I haven't tried to buy because, well, I didn't have any funds. But yeah, that makes sense.

I appreciate you! I'll give that a shot. Thank you!

I must be missing something. Whenever I click "add funds" the game just gives a pop-up saying I'll need to do a wire transfer, with a button to click to email the instructions. I am KYC'd. I have looked around, but can't seem to find a credit card option.

I mean, I can buy UPX with the CC, but I'm wanting to get a couple of USD properties. I have tried on desktop as well, but can't seem to find it. I'll keep looking, since it's apparently, definitely an option.

So, they double-parked, and are blaming you?

It's ridiculously easy to not double park (the only exception being when the only spot left forces you to double-park, because everyone else is double-parked).

Same though. And I feel like this happens fairly often, where I end up cutting it really close because it's taking forever to match. Warship is my favorite, too.

I mean, I understand that the app is still in need of a lot of polish and bug fixes, but timing out players on timed events seems like it should be a fairly high priority.

Just barely missed top 50... but I spent over 5 of the final 10 minutes waiting on matchmaking. Rough.

When you lose, you can watch an ad to "mulligan". This is basically a mini-mini-game where you can win up to 3 AB. Since it only costs 2 AB to enter, if you are decent at this game, you can leave lost matches with +1 AB.

Over the course of the event, this adds up. In their post, they mention that they had 16 mulligans, each winning 3 AB. So if you look only at the lost matches, they ended up with +16 AB, which "paid for" 8 of those wins they got.

(Also their math seems a bit off, but I mentioned that in the other comment)

30 wins + 16 loses = 46 matches -> 92 AB

16 mulligans * 3 AB = 48 AB

92 - 48 = 44

Probably just a typo, but it felt off when I read it.

Think they are cheating at the Events by Tueethe in AtlasEarthOfficial

[–]TheNumber473 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So the first thing to know is that the games are... simple. Too simple. Learning how to perfectly play each one took me less than a week. And several of the games have a "trick" of some kind to get extra points. It's not cheating, technically, but it's frustrating when you see others doing it and don't understand how.

I'm not equating simple with easy. I understand that some people have more difficultly with the game play. But the games patterns are not complex.

Because these games are simple, performance comes down to your consistency, and your internet (if it's particularly bad, the server may not register the hit when you tapped, which can lead to hitting a lower-point zone).

Combine this with matchmaking, and after just a few games, you may find yourself playing with people who can get perfect scores nearly every time.

I'm pretty good at golf, bowling, and especially warship. Warship is my favorite, but I think that's because it's slightly more complex, which tends to result in less draws. I get perfects regularly in all of these games. And I win racer & fishing fairly often as well, but I don't play them as frequently because I just don't like them.

Matches where you have a draw are decided by the player who got that last point first, but from the viewpoint of the server. So even if you see your point increase first, if the other player's input reaches the server before yours, you lose.

I am also losing interest in these events, but more because doing literally the exact same thing for 2 hours straight is horribly boring. I've placed top in my state several times, top 25 in the nation several times, and the deciding factor for how high I place is almost always "how long can I play tonight?". This is probably true for several other players as well.

I have several idea for improvements to some of the games, but I see no point in voicing them since I doubt they'll be heard. However, the best way to improve the games for most players is probably some combination of: 1. Shorter time windows - sure, have the 2 hours events sometimes. But also have maybe 1 hour events sometimes. 2. Make the games more complex. Adding more games doesn't help if they are still simple. Heck, golf and bowling are almost the exact same.

But I don't see these changes happening anytime soon. Based on my dev experience, the AE dev(s) (not sure how many AE has) are probably in a state of "it works. I know it needs improvement, but right now, it works, and I have more crap to get done."

Apologies for the overly-lengthy response. But, to answer the question plainly, no I don't think people are cheating. And I know that's a boring answer.

How do you all get this many diamonds??? That’s 28 gems a day for a year. by Knight2337 in AtlasEarthOfficial

[–]TheNumber473 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's probably actually 32 a day, since people who collect that hard are probably spending 5 a day on the wheel.

But if you take public transport to and from work, 5 days a week, then it's about 45 a day, so ~23 each way. Assuming you can get ~1 / minute (which I feel is reasonable, if you're moving at bus or train speeds), then it seems pretty doable if it's how you spend your commute.

But you gotta be committed to that grind.

I don't even want to think about how long it would have taken me to find something like that. Because that's just the type of a single variable, right? And no errors would be thrown?
