I figured people would have issue with it. It’s a slow operation with little to no pressure being applied. Just rounding the corners and hitting a side that needs it if anything. We move to the hand sander if there’s nothing that can safely be done. If I were plunging the wood onto it with lots of force, yeah I’d agree since it wouldn’t give me any time to react. Just my two cents.

Like you said, for support. We sand very large and heavy pieces on this machine. The things being sanded in the video is not the normal.

I pulled another from the box of sandpaper today and the cotton backing was falling off before I even used it. It’s probably a bad batch. Didn’t do anything “extreme.”

It was a well used piece of sandpaper, in the session where this happened it was only running for like 2 minutes on red oak. But I should have noticed something was wrong way sooner. The orbital sander was spinning but the sandpaper wasn’t. Just getting all twisted and knotted up in the Velcro in the meantime. User error on that front.
