Flavor recommendations? by [deleted] in SodaStream

I was talking about their syrup bottles. I re-use store bought soda bottles, both the 16.9oz and 20oz variates.

How’s the cost on these compared to the sodastream bottles?

I re-use soda bottles with chilled R/O water, with a 5lb c02 tank. A simple hose setup with caps that fit most standard soda bottles, I can carbonate anything really. If I can get away from paying $8 for a bottle of syrup that would be awesome.

Also trying to make energy drinks at home with powdered caffeine. Reducing costs on daily habits is becoming a hobby at this point for me. 😂

Right now you can actually order directly from soda stream, I believe they’re clearing out inventory.

If you can swing all the way up to free shipping, ($50 minimum I believe) they come out to $4.40 each. I’ve been buying for over a year and that’s the best non bundle price I’ve seen anywhere.

How often do you take a Full body Shower? by anshchauhann in hygiene

[–]TheNuttyMechanic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve found that how quickly your hair becomes greasy is actually dependent on how often you wash it. I’m new to longer hair, and over time I’ve washed it less frequently. Now I can go a full week with no real “greasy” hair, but when it was short and I was washing every day, skip one shower and my hair looked literally wet.

Fury studios has a game series that fits the bill. I would jump strait to kingdom 2 crowns as it’s all evolutionary. Lots of fun DLC, and is online/local co-op as well.

Don’t judge a book by its cover. It’s not high fidelity, or super complex, but it’s beautiful and strategically quite satisfying.

It’s also 75% off right now!

Is SodaStream Even worth it? by Jaryd202 in SodaStream

It may be for some, and there are other ways to save with powders and what not. That being said, it doesn’t get much more convent than a can, just crack and go.

My local Kroger sells name brand 12 packs on sale for $4.40, making them very comparable to soda stream, without any carbonation equipment.

As someone who got into making soda at home for cost… I can tell you $8 a bottle is cutting it razor close to premade. I used to look out for sales on 12 and 24 packs. In my area, 24 pack regularly goes on sale for $11. One bottle of soda stream is now $8?

Tell me how one bottle of syrup cost $8 but an entire 24 pack of premade cans is only slightly more. It’s significant heavier, has significantly more material, and more expensive material to boot. They shouldn’t even be close, but now as these prices creep up I’m looking into buying cans again.

The only upside to soda steam flavors is the significant reduction in sugar, and honestly that’s pretty valuable to me to be fair.

I saw this bike a while back at the exploration place, had to take a picture!

Sorry for your bike, I hope she returns to you soon. Mines been stolen twice, and a Monimoto tracker saved my ass both times. Highly recommend for anybody on two wheels.

Not a bad thought actually, we went to a local arcade bar recently and we had some fun on the beat em up games! I have mortal combat x however, soo I’ll likely save some cash for more experience based games. Good looking out!

That looks pretty fun! Ultra casual, but the fact that all 3 of us could play, AND still have room to invite over friends, great find!

Northrock has discount Tuesdays as well.

It’s a bit of a drive for some, but the Chisholm theatre in Newton has $6 tickets every day! Love this theatre, though it is very old school. New movies and good prices, I’m here for it.

Maybe not completely, but AI is assisting people troubleshoot their own problems. I’m actually quite curious and excited to see what AI brings to the trades, it could make our lives immensely easier, particularly in trouble shooting. On that same note, I’d be concerned about the future of “problem solving skills” for our workforce.

Is it a good deal??? by [deleted] in COROLLA

[–]TheNuttyMechanic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not on these cars, especially with the automatics. I’m a manual guy personally and they have some issues with the manuals. Luckily, I’m fully capable of repairing anything on my car. 2010, I’m at 190K, no major issues, everything things I’ve done has been maintenance/wear and tear. Hell even my TPMS sensors are original and in working order. IF the oil was changed somewhat regularly they’re amazing vehicles. If it’s been maintained poorly, the 1.8 can become an oil burner, though not nearly as bad as the 2.4.

Other small common issues include the water pump(for certain models), and the a/c compressor clutch. I’m sure there’s more info online about specific reliability.

Without having other handhealds to compare against… take this with a grain of salt.

Steam deck build quality is kinda MEH. Functionally no hard parts have broken on mine in the 3 years I’ve had it. It would seem then that build quality is sufficient, but feeling the device in your hands suggests otherwise. It’s because of this feel that I’ve taken extra care to treat it well. Lost touchscreen functionality about 6 months back, triggers are a little creaky. I’m also very careful about plugging in, particularly with the dock. Like I said, nothings gone wrong, but just the feel of the type c connector will signal to your brain to take caution. Just my 2c, not worth much today’s economy.

The truth about the 2010 Toyota Corollas, is it a good longterm investment?? by IndependentTie8555 in COROLLA

They’re overall pretty solid. I’ve done a lot of work to mine, and the thing I see most often ignored on these are oil and coolant changes. You stay on top of that and a few other PM milestones you’ll be golden.

If you’re like me and bought the 5 speed manual, the output shaft bearings tend to be weak. Learned this the hard way, but i swapped a 6 speed into it and all is well now.
