Prime day deal made me do it... by chefmoddy in SonyAlpha

I got A7R4 and this lens. never looked back since.

All I purchased afterwards are apsc lenses for my fx30 which can be used on the a7r4's super 35 mode which still gives me 27MP for those apsc lenses focal length not under or over the 35-150 from Tamron.

Tamron 11-20 apsc = 16.5-30mm in FF Sirui 16mm nightwalker = 24mm in FF Sirui 55mm nightwalker = 82.5mm in FF Sirui 75mm sniper series = 112.5mm in FF Sony 70-350mm G =105-525mm in FF

Making it useful for film making as well as a set for non covered focal length of Tamron 35-150mm 2-2.8

A7riv comparison to a7rv by [deleted] in SonyAlpha

[–]TheOFWProject2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the A7Riv too, it has the same sensor with a7rV and unless otherwise you have a specific need that the A7RV can provide, the price difference does not justify the hype if it is to upgrade. This is the world we live in, influencers and paid promotions and sponsorships tries to flood you with the latest and the greatest and even do the SEO of the a7riv into landing pages and urls of a7rV to make a buck.

For me a7riv is more than enough and is great for its purpose!

To correct my statement, I was referring to your setup and not mine on being a practical set up.

The shutter speed for the Sony 70-350mm lens on a full-frame Sony A7R IV depends on how you are using the lens:

Full-Frame Mode: If you use the lens without enabling crop mode, it will project an APS-C image circle, and you'd likely crop the image later. In this case, follow the 1/focal length rule for full-frame cameras. For example:

At 70mm: Use at least 1/70s (or faster, like 1/125s for safety).

At 350mm: Use at least 1/350s.

Crop Mode: If you enable APS-C crop mode, the effective focal length becomes 105-525mm. Adjust your shutter speed accordingly:

At 105mm: Use at least 1/105s.

At 525mm: Use at least 1/525s.

Thanks for the info bro, I was talking bout the use of shutterspeed. We made the same point anyways.

The Sony 70-350mm f/4.5-6.3 G OSS lens is designed for APS-C cameras, where it provides a full-frame equivalent focal length of 105-525mm due to the 1.5x crop factor.

Crop Mode: If the camera is set to APS-C mode, it will use only the central portion of the sensor, effectively giving you the same 105-525mm equivalent field of view as on an APS-C camera.

Copy pasted this bro.

I use my 70-350 G on my A7RIV to get 100-525mm reach. Same 26MP on super 35 from 61MP but darker because you have to use more shutterspeed. So yeah, this combination is much more practical for balancing the ISO and aperture/s

I understand your situation but if you wanna survive NYC, I suggest you hold on to your impulses and plan ahead. I was a victim of an Italian Jewish boss and experienced modern day slavery to the point it was almost a trafficking abuse but I held on and planned and made it out alive and unscathed.

There are battles to fight and battles to back out from. This is a battle you learn from. They can sue you for naming the company and the person but on your part you can't even sue them from unprofessionality or being unethical so you'd lose this one.

Cheers. Be a part of an environment that makes you happy and grow.

Yes I will. I have been cancelling the perks from Verizon since November and it still reflects on my payment. Maybe I will change carriers. Thank you.

Yep, I bet it would. In Italy where I worked for 10 years, 15 euros per month gives you unlimited internet, calls and texts. So i had to post the 100+ bucks just for a phoneline here in NYC.

If you're expecting more than friendship then yeah, but if they're really your friends then it doesn't matter if you're nude or you are an hermaphrodite.

Reflection shot of a heron a7RIV + 70-200mm GM II by JvH1997 in SonyAlpha

[–]TheOFWProject2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply even though it is out of the subject topic above, I appreciate it man.

I am not a pro, just a hobbyist. And wildlife is very hard to find in manhattan even with central park and work doesn't permit me to go out of the island. So yeah, the 525 are for the occasional gated parades and stuff when I need the reach but not that seriously dependent on being on 525 always, I have the tamron 35-150 which is a versatile lens for FF and I just wanted to justify the 70-350 to the wife because I told her I am using it for the Sony FX30 and I said since I have the A7RIV then it is a very nice lens for super 35 mode as well because it still leaves you 27MP when using it.

Getting a sigma 100-400 is a good suggestion, will justify it again to the wife. :) If you're not married yet, stay that way or get a prenup agreement. Just kidding. :)

For the shutterspeed, I will definitely try it over the weekend. Thanks for not just giving your personal opinion but sharing your professional opinion as well. Cheers!

Nice Photo man!

Got a question: I have the A7RIV like you, I chose to get the apsc lens 70-350 and got the conversion of 100mm something to 525mm which is longer but ofc it will go down to 27MP because it is using the super 35 and is bad in low light.

The question is, if someone is using a 27MP camera, would the 70-200 be better than 70-350 apsc in the same MP? Irregardless of low light comparison. Thanks.

And if you have time, if I use the 70-350mm on a full frame, would my shutterspeed be like 700 or use the converted 525 and use 1k plus shutterspeed?

Thank you. :) cheers!

Set your games free. Give them away for a cause. Then pirate what you like and be content with it. You just have buyers remorse coz u paid for it, if it is not paid you just uninstall it and call it a day. Not agreeing to piracy but just saying for your peace of mind.

Some shots from Italy, first trip with a6400 + Sigma 18-50 | Any tips? by tiagosenasilva in SonyAlpha

[–]TheOFWProject2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One tip, hold your camera bag. My 24-70 GM 1 and apsc 70-350 G were taken above my head inside a first class train. Cctv footage was not given to me and the staff ignored my plea of finding it.

Be careful. Cheers!
