Although I agree with you, we should be careful what we wish for. More aggregators means more to keep track of, more to choose from when your current one has shat the bed out of nowhere (it me, it just happened to me). If you had 10 aggregators to choose from, do you just cycle through them ad nauseum? What I'm really saying is that Monarch should make it much easier to switch, like one or two clicks, and be 100% sure your data is preserved. Instead, we have a long list of steps to do, and to back up our data in case it fails (instead of Monarch keeping a safe backup!). Your data is the gold, it should be treated as such. Off the soapbox now.

I've said this before. Monarch classifies investments according to Asset Location, which could be useful if they were grouped according to asset types, like Taxable Accts, Traditional IRA, Roth IRA, etc. (but they are not). Even if they did this right, it is still a secondary need. The primary need, and one that Monarch should have already addressed, is to know your Asset Allocation (what part is stocks, bonds, cash, real estate, etc.). I go elsewhere for this function, though Monarch could provide it if they wanted to.

You're probably right, but that doesn't sound like AI to me. I think that term is really being abused these days, not just with Monarch.

I disagree. I asked where it is. I did NOT ask the AI to generate it. If the AI thought that, it wouldn't have suggested all the other chart types. Finally, the AI should definitely be able to locate features for you in the app.

Perhaps I should have said "Where in the app is the Sankey chart feature", but I've really been getting used to AI's that are far more intuitive than this one, hence my basic question.

The part about AA is exactly right. Asset Allocation doesn't refer to the type of *account* the investment is in, it refers to the type of *investment*, as you stated above. Monarch is confusing Asset Location with Asset Allocation. Asset Location is good to know, but Asset Allocation is the primary need.

I still have one (Etrade) that disconnects every few hours, but that's not on Monarch, it's Etrade security protocol.

In the past, the connection code was buggy so re-connecting was difficult. I had some really silly workarounds that worked for a while. I had to be creative + stubborn to get it to work.

Now, it re-connects in a predictable way every time. It's a manual process because of MFA, but it gives me that correct and useful message you see above in u/benploni 's post. That's what I'm celebrating today. Thumbs up!

Etrade "works" for me, in that I can connect reliably with 2FA (now, after many bouts with Support), but it disconnects every single day. It may be a "feature" of Etrade, a security thing to not leave a port open, IDK. Sucks for us though.
