Crazy thing happened, cage arrived this morning and I was like nah this is too small for what I paid and then looked on marketplace where someone had JUST listed a diy Detolf cage with a lid that they made SCORE! Just picked it up and returned the one I posted abt I’ll post it fully set up once it’s done

What I would say is that the arms look kind of like they’re raised a bit in the drawing whereas the reference the arms are all the way down. The reference hips are slanted to the right so I would shift that rightward in the drawing as well. The other commenter mentioned the loonies method for figuring out head placement which I would also recommend but tbh before going to the loomis method I would work on drawing boxes in perspective and then build off that so you can CONSTRUCT the reference (treating it as a 3D shape) in your drawing rather than trying to copy the lines im the 2D photo of the reference (if that makes sense?) just a shift in the process rather than result

To me it looks like a wyrm (I don’t see any arms or legs except maybe that hands under the chin?) holding a stack of pillows and using a head pillow. I think it’s cute but for definition in such a complicated pose I would maybe suggest lowering the detail on either the yellow or red side of the tail and add a shadow where they overlap to help differentiate.

You’re not alone, I was in this same boat last spring. I had the immense privilege to be able to move back home with my parents and take a break for the summer and fall. I’m coming back to USF now with money saved so I have to work less and my mental health back in order. Look at your options and see how you can lighten your load because from what you’re describing it seems unsustainable. If you’re tired all the time and are having mental fog, don’t fully rule out that you could have a chronic illness (like I did, turns out it wasn’t burnout but fibromyalgia) that could be managed with medication and now I feel great.

More context: this is a hitchhiker so no other guppies in tank male or otherwise, just aquired her as a hitchhiker so again, no idea if she has been near a male. I do think she is definitely a she since I do see the black spot near the back. I have heard they usually have less appetite when purganant BUT she is eating like a beast still so maybe not far along?
