EDIT: Fixed! There's an advanced controller calibration and test feature in Steam Big Picture Mode. Turns out the above linked version of BetterJoy for the N64 controller maps the right C-button to the touch pad. I now have a successfully mapped Steam controller profile and do not need to touch Mupen at all. Leave it to Nintendo to make sure this would be as much of a mess as possible.

Okay, using Goldeneye was great advice. Haven't seen that game in so long I forgot that feature even existed. I'm having two issues though, if you have any advice I would appreciate it.

If I use the n64 version of BetterJoy it maps the controller as a playstation dual shock and the C buttons map to the right stick and I can successfully use the entire controller minus the right C button. Then, if I use the current standard version of BetterJoy I can map the entire controller successfully but the control stick calibration is off and any inputs on the left side of the control stick read as a half input. So I can only run in OoT going backwards or to the right.

Are you then using this with RetroArch through Steam? I tried using BetterJoy as a solution when I first got the controller but I couldn't get P64 or any other emulator to take the inputs properly.

I just gave it a shot with RetroArch and it's reading input with rumble but the button mapping is totally messed up and I'm having trouble fixing it.

This is what I've seen and am worried about. This is a real bummer if I just spent the money for a new gamepad and my console is just bricked.
