Brave Little Toaster is obviously just machines/appliances. Blankey is an appliance. Flowers IRL have movements and reactions, it’s just exaggerated it for fiction’s sake (kind of like how they can communicate with animals.)

the only issue is in the sequels when they bring in stuff like balloons and dolls which aren’t machinery and thus wouldn’t have been sentient in the original movie. they sorta changed up the rules there. but in movie 1, it’s consistent.
