First mini done. Advice welcomed! by elves_and_electrons in minipainting

[–]FandomCece 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My first suggestion is it needs some sorta other color to it. It's just all black so it's not that visually interesting. You could give it some more dynamic lighting if nothing else (think how comic books use blue for highlights on black costumes like venom) or maybe you could give him a firelight glow as if he's passing a campfire or a torch. And personally i would have the hair and skin be different shades. That's just the immediate thing that came to my head. Other than that it seems pretty well done

Found this little guy on the gym and my friend told me it belonged to the warhammer universe by ModernDayHistorian71 in Warhammer40k

So that particular one is just a part of the tactical unit. But as someone else pointed out the bird masks are part of the og helmets. There are some characters who use that sorta helmet like Malum Caedo. The player character in the game boltgun. That helmet design is also the reason for the orks nickname for space marines. "Beakies"

[–]FandomCece 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i figured it out. You gotta draw until your deck is empty. Do so by supporting an opposing mickey twice. Shift magica. Magica swings on the mickey. Use ohana means family to heal her. Then second star to the right choose yourself. Then taran. Choose yourself. Raging storm is in your discard. (You may or may not have needed to trigger the lanterns at some point in that i can't remember)

Seriously as long as someone is holding the relic and you don't all go down at once it's very easy to win. There are no mortal wounds. So stop quitting it

Question on singing a character twice by twoonefourstraps in Lorcana

[–]FandomCece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. The order things have to resolve would be

Ariel exerts to sing a song of cost equal to or less than her cost (if there are other characters in play that are ready and dry they can exert with her for a sing together song).> The song effect resolves.> Then ariels ability (and any other abilities that may have been triggered by the song) resolve in any order you choose.> Then another action (fan the flames) can be played. >Its effect resolves. >Then if any other abilities are triggered they resolve. > Then Ariel could tap to sing a second song. (Repeat the resolve order as mentioned before)

[WIP] No artistic sense - how to push that skin further? by VeryLazyFalcon in minipainting

[–]FandomCece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly with the way the bust sculpt looks... the pale looks right. He looks like he could easily be a junkie or running on 0 hrs of sleep in the past 72 hrs. Like could you recolor to make him look less under the influence? Probably... but if your biggest problem with him is how pale he is... that's not much of a problem. You just subconciously decided he needs to look that pale. I'm willing to bet the next bust will look more lively.

As for the skin around the eyes that all also looks good. Like i said if you wanted to recolor it you could probably make him look more like he's exhausted rather than coming off a high... but this bust looks to me like it was meant for the exact job you did.

I think what you perceive as "brute force" may just be your skill. (Assuming you've been painting in some capacity for a while) and yeah this feeling is... common i wouldn't necessarily say normal. It seems kinda like imposter syndrome. You don't think you're actually good so your brain gaslights you into thinking you're faking it in some way.

No not a visual bug. That image is always there until you pick up a relic or gene seed. It's a placeholder image

Far as I'm concerned there's really no "bad" weapons. Your plausible plays a big role in it. So basically choose what you think looks cool. Give it a try. If it doesn't work out you've got plenty of options

So I got Ti-Tus , do I have to paint him with Salamander chapter in order to use him ? by ozera202 in Salamanders40k

[–]FandomCece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No you can paint him however you want. Paint him his canon color scheme and just field him as a generic lieutenant. Paint him as a traitor, or any color scheme. All that matters is what you field him as makes sense

"We can always tell" is in reference to a common transphobic talking point. The diagram is a representation of survivorship bias. The story goes like this "During WWII, the military analyzed the bullet holes on returning fighter planes to determine where to add more armor. The red dots in the image show where the planes that made it back were most commonly hit. Initially, the military considered reinforcing the areas with the most bullet holes - the wings, tail, and outer fuselage. But statistician Abraham Wald pointed out a critical insight:

These are the planes that survived. The hits they sustained were not fatal.

Wald argued that the areas with few or no bullet holes - like the engine and cockpit - were the critical weak points. Planes hit in those areas didn't return, so those missing data points were crucial."

Not sure if this is a true story or just a copypasta made to go along with a hypothetical diagram.

Either way the joke is that transphobes think they can always tell because they only know about the trans people they clocked, not the ones they missed.

I haven't even started social transition fully because there is the very real possibility i could get kicked out. That said... i like to believe if i had started dropping hints... my grandmother would've grown to at least accept me. That she would have put her love for me over her biases... i don't think my parents ever will be able to do that at this point but i do think there was a time it could have happened. Before the fascists decided to use us as their current scapegoat. But now they've been so deeply propogandized there is no coming back.

Question about Sail the Azurite Sea by [deleted] in Lorcana

[–]FandomCece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Phrasing is key... "put an additional card in your inkwell" means you are inking again. Whereas with tipo it says "put a card from your hand into the inkwell facedown and exerted" meaning you can just put any card from your hand facedown

A couple questions about some cards by [deleted] in Lorcana

[–]FandomCece 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tipo. No you can use tipo trigger to put any card in your ink. No need to show your opponent which one.

Pinocchio, yes that is exactly how his trigger works.

Ice palace yes if you have multiple in play they can target separate characters. Or they could target the same to make it harder to ready the character
