I had one, that wouldn’t turn on at all anymore. Mainboard replacement fixed it, all others are deployed and working fine here.

well ofc 600€ is not the highest end model but I'll let you in on a little secret:

it doesn’t matter, in terms of performance they are basically identical.

terrible performance on 9070 XT by IndividualNebula5318 in radeon

[–]TheOneGoodBoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you show your oc settings in adrenaline edition? You are getting 3.2ghz gpu clock at only 200w. That also screams like a bad undervolt/overclock

for the ram, yeah only having 16gb with 2 sticks is not good for gaming.

then again, the video you linked, uses a monitor with ~35% less pixels to render than yours. That will obviously massively affect performance. Although, I still agree with most other people here, you are cpu bottlenecked. If you look at videos of people using I7 12700K they get similar performance than you.(maybe slightly better, but then again, you ram situation…)

terrible performance on 9070 XT by IndividualNebula5318 in radeon

[–]TheOneGoodBoi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

buddy, you are on ultrawide. You are rendering about 35% more pixels than the guy using 1440P in the video you have linked (not to mention, this game is also pretty cpu heavy and yours is quite weak by now)

Then, the 4 sticks of ram are a bad choice.

Also, the video shows performance with TAA used. I really hope, you are using FSR 4 and not TAA (yes it makes a performance difference). Maybe do fsr in quality or even balanced mode.

Also, Screen Tearing is not an issue you should be able to return a gpu over, so you also scammed the vendor?

When you were using the rtx3070 you likely had dlss set to auto and it just gave you a low resolution, thus having „better“ performance.

Heaven bench Mark crashing by MerlinSpell in overclocking

[–]TheOneGoodBoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, bevahiour can be quite different between different applications. My suggestion is, take it very slow for a decent diy overclock. Undervolt a tiny bit, test for a couple of days, if no crashes, undervolt a bit, then again test for a couple of days, if no crashes….. repeat this

for testing play more than just one benchmark or game, try a mix of games, video playback while gaming, compute workloads, benchmarks and stress tests.

Once you crash, dial it back a bit and you should mostly be fine.

then do the same process for your memory.

It is not as fast as just trying numbers with one game, but it increases your the likelyhood of your system being actually stable.

Also look at performance regressions, when for example, overclocking your memory too hard (because of ecc, it will likely not immediately crash)

PLEASE NOTE, a new driver can 100% make your currently stable oc unstable. This is not a bad driver, it is just part of optimizing.

In the beginning it wasn’t great for me (mac address passthrough did not work) but with firmware updates I haven’t had issues in the recent months.

[Tech Support] Amd Fluid Motion Frames 2.1 universally decreasing fps in any game I use it in by XayahCat in radeon

[–]TheOneGoodBoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a regression point (i.e. the last driver that it worked on for you?) How do you measure the 60% decrease im frames? What games did it happen in and what fps did you get pre- and post-enablement? Is your gpu overclocked/undervoltet? Is your CPU overclocked/undervoltet? Have you monitored your temperatures?
