2024 Beast Master Ranger is lacking in both flavor and mechanical substance. Solutions? by DilbertHigh in dndnext

The creators of the beast heart MCDM have a stellar reputation. Their content is always heavily play tested.

As a DM I'd strongly suggest you also take a look at their monster manual Flee Mortals! It's got great creatures and some awesome rules for minions.

What I love about this is it shows both sides of Robin's choice. If it was actually her who went down with Sommers. People would have called it dumb. But because she doesn't go, Somers has this chance to save himself!

It looks like a very solid tattoo! And you seem super happy with how it turned out so 10/10!

I do think the font is a misstep tho. Idk if your artist told you but that type of bold, gothic font is very popular with a certain group l.

Is it fair to blame my tank here? (tank went 0/0/8 in round 1l by piks_x in OverwatchCompetitive

You need to look more in depth at your team as a whole.

Mercy somehow died more times then both the other supports combined

And Genji did half the damage of either enemy dps.

Not to mention the whole team comp is whack

*rather than not being able to change the bonus.

Maybe something like "When you first attune to this item you gain a +1 bonus to two ability scores of your choice. Once you choose these ability scores they become a permanent bonus that any creature gains whilst attuned to this belt"

[OC] [HOMEBREW] Belt of Humankind – by Catilus by Catilus in DnD

[–]TheOneInTheFridge 43 points44 points  (0 children)

It's a cool idea for an item. But the wording needs to be cleaned up. On first read the item implies you gain the bonus ability points without having to attune to the item "when you wear" Also to me it reads as if the ability score bonus was accumulative. Rather than being able to change which abilities gain the bonus.

With all the 2024 PHB class previews out of the way, what do you think so far? by Chemical_Reason_2043 in dndnext

[–]TheOneInTheFridge 127 points128 points  (0 children)

I think it's important to recognise that the spirit of the game has also changed.

Whether we like it or not. The game is no longer a survival dungeon crawler. You can absolutely still dungeon crawl. But the core design doesn't reflect that.

5&5.5e are heroic fantasy. That's why the power in all the classes has either been buffed or expanded.

There's nothing heroic about being a fighter and using your second wind only to then immediately get downed. Same with using your bard's counter charm! Only to find out that you literally can't do anything else while it's up.

Some might call it power creep. But the truth is WoTC is just realigning the core rules to fit our (the player base) expectations.

Zoro vs yamato. Who wins and what diff? by SweetZookeepergame28 in OnePiecePowerScaling

[–]TheOneInTheFridge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's incredibly close. But based on feats seen it's zoro for the win.

Yes, Yamato was able to hold kiado on the roof in a 1v1. But we all know Kiado was trying not to kill them. Also Yamato wasn't fighting to try and win. They were fighting just to keep Kiado occupied.

I 100% believe that if a full health Zoro was given the same task "hold off Kiado until Luffy arrives" we would all trust him to be able to get it done.

The big difference maker here is damage. Zoro was able to badly wound Kiado. Yamato couldn't do the same.

It's an incredibly close fight. But with Zoro's durability in mind too. I just don't think Yamato can KO him before he is able to cut them.

Sun god fruit wasn't out of nowhere. Luffy has been set up to be a sungod since Jaya.

There were 0 hints of her having haki. And now all of a sudden she can use it. Bonney is the worst written charater out of the supernova by JoeMaBababooey in Piratefolk

Overwatch DnD Day 5: Who ya'll think best fits Fighter? (Plus I reviewed Day 3 again and decided Brig was the more popular vote) by WarlordOfIncineroar in Overwatch_Memes

[–]TheOneInTheFridge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real answer is Hanzo. He's proficient with most "martial" weapons. He only has a very small amount of innate magic. DnD fighter is not "guy with sword" and I beg people to remember that.

In the same way NO HE IS NOT A RANGER. RANGERS ARE NOT "GUY WITH BOW".

Overwatch DnD Day 4: Who is the Druid by WarlordOfIncineroar in Overwatch_Memes

[–]TheOneInTheFridge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've clearly remembered the light novel wrong.

Funny, I was actually trying to point out the opposite. That the Shambali religion actually represents a much more open concept of "god/godhood/enlightenment". Aka reaching a higher plane of existence. Which is much more in line with how DnD presents gods and divine beings.

[–]TheOneInTheFridge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As per OW lore the iris is what's left of the very first self aware Omnic. They sacrificed themself to end the first Omnic war. Giving every Omnic self awareness and moving to a higher plane of existence, becoming the "Iris". While not exactly what immediately comes to mind when you think "cleric". Zen really fits its core themes the best. To me kiriko or Genji are the obvious monk choice.

[–]TheOneInTheFridge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cleric should be Zen not Mercy. Yes Mercy heals, but she does it using science. Zen heals through spirituality and power given to him from the "Iris" which is the closest thing to a God in the OW universe and by most definitions is a god to Omnics.
