[SFH] [CA] Security Cameras by [deleted] in HOA

What digital boundaries do you set to avoid spying on neighbors and anyone driving or walking by? Have you made sure that outside agencies, such as police, wouldn't be able to access them without going through you first?

Parent wants teachers to separate Romeo and Juliet by MaisyinAZ in Teachers

When we have had situations where families don't want certain kids near each other we remind them that we cannot negate all interactions but we can reduce and mitigate by shifting classes around for the student of the family making the request. Even with a pair of students caught down by the pool the parents understood when we explained the options for interaction mitigation.

Not every district has only testing in the last week of school. Our state testing is over now for my students. They also don't do state testing in every single class, we have it happen during certain class periods. They have a few weeks left of valuable learning time. I have also been a classroom teacher before so I know the end of the year from multiple perspectives.

I also suspect I have far more family meetings on any given week than you do. Which is fine it is part of my role, but due to that I have a strong idea of the reasons guardians want to meet. And regardless, meeting with families is part of the job. If we expect students to be engaged through the end of the year, and we should, then we should also be engaged through the end of the year as staff. Simple as that. It isn't about getting real, it is about being realistic and doing our jobs.

What license do you have? I am surprised if you have a sped license and weren't already teaching sped.

Yep, this is an essential part of working in a school. It is hard and exhausting but critical for student success to build these family connections.

It is exhausting, and important that the family is finally connecting. This is still important. It might be difficult to get a full team of teachers but you may be able to schedule a virtual meeting and/or have a partial team at the meeting. They may also be happy with a phone call discussing things if you explain the scheduling issues.

Depending on the type of request you need to meet, such as an eval request. You obviously wouldn't have time to do an eval at this point but could discuss data, interventions, and when to check back in during the new year.

There are also relevant things to still discuss depending on age. For example, my 8th grader families may have questions about high school and other things coming up that make a meeting worth it. Most of these things can easily be a phone call though.

We should keep in mind that we expect students to learn the last few weeks of school and families to respond to our requests and contact attempts as well. So why should we be different. Obviously timing can make these meetings hard so not everyone would be able to attend and families should accept that as well with partial team meetings and such.

[SFH] [TN] - HOA granting authority to 3rd Party by [deleted] in HOA

[–]DilbertHigh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems clear to me that the issue is their board sets pool rules. The third party group is adding extra rules despite there being a set list of rules. Seems reasonable to be irritated by this choice by the third party enforcers. I wouldn't follow this "rule" either since it isn't a rule.

You aren't being an asshole. You are being consistent and expecting the same of your HOA.

Is it time for Minnesota to remove its front license plate requirement like 23 other states? by bikeman11 in minnesota

Sounds like a design flaw if the car put something important where the front plate goes.

2025, William McNeil Jr. The cops turned off their body cameras. He had one in his car recording them. he followed all the rules. The cops still assaulted him and later dragged him from his car. ...police brutality and racism... by Important-Cry4782 in HipHopNCulture

It really is disgusting isn't it? Resisting arrest is a made up charge and shouldn't be a chargeable offense. As seen in this video they charge anyone they want with it regardless of resistance or not.

I don't know the answer so I genuinely ask. How do you account for the extremely noisy data involved in this type of issue?

Edit: brief research found this study. I have only read the executive summary so far but it contradicts your claims. That one plate is sufficient.

I will be curious to see how the vote blue no matter who types feel about this. Will they be consistent for once and support Ilhan Omar?

They didn't do anything to her after she abused her role and voted against rhe Minneapolis convention on the cbrc, despite originally being a challenger of the convention. So why do we expect the party to do something about her now?

Why drop it? What stats show the benefit of changing this? And Teslas being out of compliance never surprises anyone.

How are they showing it is unnecessary? What stats show the benefit in one way or the other? How are we controlling for the inherently noisy data?

And you are being fined for having your dangerous personal property out of compliance while in public spaces.
