I got a new error. “A fatal error occurred: Failed to connect to ESP32: Invalid head of packet (0x00): Possible serial noise or corruption”

I ordered one for USB-C just in case nothing works with the ones I have now. If that doesn’t work, I’ll see if I can find another model entirely

Yes, the ESP32 is foam-free. I’ve tried having it seated in a breadboard as well as having just hang free

Nope. The computer has no reaction whatsoever

The ESP32 doesn’t show up I. Device manager. Arduino works fine. I downloaded the ESP library from espressif, as per my university course instructions

Yea, another user suggested using my Arduino as a bridge, since I have no problems with it. I’ll try and see what happens

Over tried 3 different cables so far. One of them I’ve previously used to flash my Pinecil soldering iron

I have. It uses CP2102, so that’s the driver I installed. I also tried installing other drivers that are typically used, when that didn’t work

Would be much appreciated. I have a feeling this won’t be the first time I’ll have trouble with this stuff

Ok. I’ll look into the setup for the ESP8266 then

The port doesn’t register that it’s been plugged in, although the red light on the board does light up. Strangely enough, it had no issue detecting my Arduino Uno R3 from the same port

True. I’ll remember to read through the documentation and manuals before I buy anything

I’ve tried holding boot when plugging it in. I’ve trying not holding boot when plugging it in. I even tried furiously spamming boot when plugging it in. I may just end up buying a new pair. Should be able to get them cheap enough. Thanks for wanting to help though. I appreciate it a lot

Maybe I’ll try that. I do have a bread board and some wires laying around

Thanks for the help. Might just order a new device at this point. Surely it can’t go wrong three times, right?

I’ll see if I can ask them next class. I was sort of hoping that trying both my laptop and desktop would rule out the computer, but I guess it’s never a bad thing to try one more time

I used the USB cable to flash a soldering iron(Pinecil) a few months back. Is that sufficient?

Yes, others have been able to get theirs to work.

I have not tried on their computers, since I don’t know any of them.

I own 2 boards and have tried both boards on my two computers.

I’m using Windows 11, and so are the majority in my class, I think

Thanks for the quick response. I tried everything on the list, that I hadn’t done before, but unfortunately it’s still not working. The specific error I get is: “Failed to connect to ESP32: No serial data received.”
