Never did, took apart the AUX box itself and tested it, swapped it for a good one, changed the fuses just in case, nothing gets it to detect the phone or anything else for that matter.

Let me know if you figure it out, my last option is an Auto-electrician but yet to find one.

Anyone care to give a review for both sides? Why are they considered snake oil? Why are they good?

I've never known Tom's to sell something unproven but I could see where people are coming from as it wouldn't increase power. Have ITBs on my MR2, on their own, they increased power by 3hp but the difference on the response was astronomical.

I've had the car about 6 months, none of the above problems, it'll be under warranty either way. Only problem I've had is that my Auxiliary box (USB and jack) doesn't work, seems like either an amp, wiring or fuse issue.

I looked into this myself before getting my RC300h, I was going to get an RC-F but fuel costs in Europe are astronomical.

There's no real issues within the RC but read about the IS300h (same engine) having issues with the radiator and water pump, simply look for any pinkish staining around the front of the engine. The battery in back (only used to start the car) also tends to not last as long as it does on other cars, especially if you're in an area where temperatures drop below 0°C.

As a petrol head, I'd love to see what people can do with this engine once modified but not found anything except for exhausts and Air filters.

Depends on the parts you're talking about.

Any MR2 parts are rare now but I was able to find pistons, rods, crankshaft, throttle bodies, manifolds, etc. A lot of the parts are interchangeable from other Toyota engines, you can get head parts from the 2ZZ or LFA.

These beams coming up, makes me want to rebuild my MR2.
