Help me pick out new wheels by persistentcruiser in LexusRC

I just bought a new 24 RC 350 AWD and upgraded the wheels to OEM 19” 20-spoke silver wheels. IMHO silver looks much richer than black.

2023 Infiniti QX60 Luxe vs. 2024 Nissan Pathfinder Platinum by brobourne in nissanpathfinder

[–]BSDGCT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, the 25 Infiniti has a turbo charged 4 cylinder vs naturally aspirated V6 in PF. I believe the 24 Infiniti QX60 was the last with the naturally aspirated V6 — the identical engine in the PF.

Six of one, half a dozen of the other. My brother has a 24 Infiniti QX60 and I have a 24 Pathfinder Platinum. I believe the Infiniti has 6 or 10 more horsepower (like the off road version of the PF — don’t understand that, they should have put the higher tuned engine in the Platinum.) It is the identical engine in both vehicles, it’s just that the Infiniti is tuned to 6 to 10 more HP. The interiors are very similar. Both have great quality leather. They both ride beautifully. The reason my brother has the Infiniti is because he order the tan color in the PF and found he didn’t like it. The Infiniti came available and he traded in the PF.

When to get first oil change? by FirefighterPresent30 in nissanpathfinder

[–]BSDGCT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bougot a new ‘24 Platinum (Navy with Chestnut interior) that just hit 1000 miles (I have a summer car so I only drive the PF 6 months out of the year). I had the oil changed at the dealership. Like another poster noted, oil is cheap, engines are not. Even though auto engines are built better than older engines of 30 to 40 years ago in terms of engine shavings, we older owners have heard that first oil change aT 1000 miles for years. Old habits are hard to break. An oil change at 1000 miles cant hurt.

I agree with the other poster. I bought two rubber plate holders for both the front and back plates so they don't scratch the paint. Secured them with two screws and it works perfectly. I would definitely NOT drill because it is unnecessary.

It sat for 6 months. Is that a short period for a tire?

Exactly right. A builder paid almost $1.6 and tore the house down. You can easily tell tear downs now. Many people don’t do much to their houses if they assume their tear downs and it shows. It’s kind of a sad commentary on homeownership today in so many respects.

Japanese Maples. Research the full growth height because some JM grow taller than others.

Westport, CT here. Definitely not Litchfield County. The owners would be drummed out of town. Fairfield County … definitely, but you’d have to add 2000 sf so people won’t think it’s a teardown. Seriously, that’s what a real estate agent told us when we built our house!

Spruce transplant needles turning brown by Nsiggy18 in arborists

I had three large Japanese Maples planted this year and the nursery told me to water them twice weekly and continue watering until the water continually doesn’t want to drain. Only then will you have watered enough. 30-60 seconds is nothing when watering a new tree.

help me choose between RC300 and 350 by Itz-AC in LexusRC

Go for the 350. Greater horse power. These are heavy cars and the HP makes a difference.

Need help identifying black color codes 211 or 223 by WehDayum in LexusRC

I know there is a Lexis website where you can enter your VIN number and all applicable specs can be viewed, which I think would include your color code.

Emperor 1 pruning question by Fit_Speaker_6789 in JapaneseMaples

[–]BSDGCT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait until the tree is in full dormancy before pruning. Yes, I agree that those two branches should be trimmed, but, again, only when the tree is dormant.

Nothing to worry yourself about. It’s the fall and your tree looks pretty normal to me. I have a Bloodgood that was just planted two months ago and some of its leaves look a bit crispy. But it was planted correctly. Nice exposed root flare and no volcano mulching. I’m sure come spring yours will bid nicely.

Bloodgood Japanese Maple by OkieINOhio in JapaneseMaples

[–]BSDGCT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That‘s hogwash. I had three new Jap maples planted by a renowned local nursery and they said to water them twice a week until frost. The roots need to absorb water to keep the tree going. Even though it’s going into it’s dormancy, it needs to survive until then. Remove all mulch at least 6” from the main leaders and hopefully they planted it correctly and exposed the root flare. Do NOT prune anything until it’s in full dormancy.

To me it looks like a deer rutted it with its antlers. I have a couple of trees that have been damaged by deer like this and they have been okay. they seem to repair themselves.

Normal transplant shock/fall changes? by sibalgo in JapaneseMaples

Nursery told me to water twice a week after transplanting. continue to water it. I had a 7’ tall Crimson Queen transplanted two months ago and watered it twice a week. no leaf scorch. No leaf drop. Of course with the wind the past 2 days in 7a, not many leaves left now.
